"Giants got a mediocre pass rush? Could've swore thats the one thing the Jets o-line couldnt defend"

Did you read what I wrote? I stated the Giants are a very mediocre team, as their 7-7 record and #28 in total defense (yds allowed) clearly indicate. Now, what was that you were saying about the Giants pass rush?

Correction: the Giants defense sucks big time (bottom five in NFL).

as i have said 10 times this season. sanchez is a scared qb. he hits guys in the head and back because he is scared to death and simply trying to get the ball out as fast as possible.

then he goes and holds onto it for a half an hour and gets sacked.

he makes no sense. he has no sense. he is not very good at this point and i am just about done watching him.

next year will be his final chance, they will not want to go into the final year of his contract without him locked up. i just hope that we dont resign him this year to save cap space or something silly like that.

Excellent observations; he always seems to be playing scared. This is probably due to a lack of pocket presence, lack of confidence and lack of footbal smarts. The organization will never admit this since they took a major bath on the trade/high draft pick and huge contract.

One more year in Jets uniform and then off to Cleveland to hold for the kicker to wind up his illustrious career. You do have to give him credit for landing such a big contract in exchange for mediocrity and incompetence.

The contract he landed was solely due to where he was drafted. He really would've benefited from 1 more year in college... Carroll was right.

Lack of confidence is the big one I think. He has been beaten up pretty bad this year and he has not been able to overcome it.

This kid has some serious flaws in his game, even the fans who love him must see this. I have been on this ride for over 40 years, and seen then come and go, Mark has certainly regressed this year and I don't see it getting better any time soon.

Certainly Mark will be here next year, of this I have no doubt. I would remind those who think Mark is a lost cause, that if we get a new OC as many want, Mark will have to learn a whole new system. Which also has a built in excuse for the following year, "not enough time to learn the new system" That would mean two more years of this type of indecision under center and possiably cause the loss of our head coach. To me that would be huge loss for the Jets, because Rex really will be a winner when the peices all fall into place.

So this would be my plan for next year, I would bring in a solid vet (you chose) who will push Mark and who could actually come in and play should Mark continue his slide to the backup role. I know the present rookie (McElroy) is untested, and the backup always looks good when the starter is sucking, but I though he showed very good promise in preseason.

He may not have had the best arm coming out of the draft, but what is between his ears (can) sometimes make up for this. I thought he play very smart in preseason and really moved the offense ran it well for the times that he played. If you go back and look he also stood in the pocket or steped up and looked over the whole field,(progressions) to make the correct throw. I am hoping that a year to watch, learn, workout, grow stronger and then the offseason program will have him more up to speed by our next training camp. I know there is much hope in what I am saying, but McElroy took his team to a National championship and won it ! Yes, I know it's college but the kid took home the trophy, the top trophy, and that's a pretty damn good resume......

So no matter what happens with the OC situation at the end of the year, I think the true test for Rex as a head coach will be, him declaring that no one job is safe. That the best players rookie or veteran will be that ones wearing NY Jets uniforms next year and starting and that half ass football is unacceptable to him and the NY Jets.....
    We shall see

He is our QB, whether you like it or not. There are far bigger problems than Sanchez.

my first issue i had with trading up for sanchez was the horrible ramifications if he failed one year after we wasted a shit ton of money on gholston. in all honesty he did not completely fall on his face and fail. it would have been nice to have some of the money we spent on those 2 for some others but i can say he managed to play well enough where it didnt matter that much.

he really started to look shell shocked against baltimore this year and anytime the defense puts any pressure on he seems to fold up. i was hoping that he would get through it and start to learn to step up and be strong, he hasnt though.

He needs better talent around him.

He needs his skill position guys to outright win more than they do because he rarely throws a WR open.

He also needs to make quicker decisions.

You can't pat the ball/pump fake as much as he does and next expect to eat some turf.

I agree. I am a Sanchez optimist, but it is clear he has to develop a sense of the game and its speed. He is struggling with detecting trouble and/or finding a quick solution.

Who lays a hooker on her back? Hookers go face down and ass up at all times.

I know this phrase is played to death, but

The good ones find a way to win, Mark is not doing that this year. I really wonder if he is shell shocked so much now that he will never develop the way the CS had hoped.....

Sanchez is not on the same planet as Drew Bledsoe was as a QB.

Sanchez seems like a nice guy and he does not shy away from taking responsibility. But his on-field play is garbage. I'm sick of all the excuses. As much as I want to see him gone, I know that he will be the starting QB next year. He is a QB who will need to be elevated by the talent around him, so I hope that the Jets target improving the OL and obtaining a new feature back since Shonn Green is not the answer. This WR corps is clearly not as good as Edwards/Cotchery/Holmes from last year, and I wouldn't mind improving at this position as well.
