Sanchez threw his first interception as a Jet in the afternoon 7-on-7 drill. Overall, he was slightly less sharp in the afternoon session but impressive nonetheless. He was 8-for-16 in 7-on-7, missing most of his passes late, and 3-for-4 in the 11-on-11.

The pick came when Sanchez underthrew Paul Raymond (Brown) on a post pattern. It was deflected and intercepted by Marquice Cole, a CB out of Northwestern.

Sanchez' best throw of the afternoon was on a seam pattern to Marcus Henry (Kansas). Of his nine incompletions, three were drops.

Offensive Brian Schottenheimer seemed pleased when Sanchez, after missing it the first time, made a nice correction reading a coverage.

Sanchez' attitude seems infectious. He was even joking around with the water boy at one point and after Huey Whittaker (South Florida) made a nice catch with a DB draped over him, Sanchez ran downfield to slap him five.

All things considered, it was a pretty good first day.

Thank you Brett Favre. If not for you, we'd still be cringing at noodle arm's sideline 'tosses'.

Because we got Brett last year, we now have Sanchez for the next 10 years.

    Thank you. Thank you.

i'm confused... perhaps Sanchez is taken even if Chad was still here.

I don't want to start a huge debate on this though.

Man, that article is so fucking exciting.

The fucking kid doesn't even have a contract yet, AND HE'S CALLING MEETINGS!!!!

There's gotta be something wrong with this kid. He's gotta be a scientologist.

Yeah, not seeing the logic here. Seems like a random stab at insulting Pennington.

People here treat Chad like an ex-girlfriend- can never stop talking about him.

    Really bizarre post

This post should read thank you Brett Favre for getting the hell out of NY. If Favre had stayed, the Jets probably don't trade up. Let's not try to sugarcoat one of the biggest mistakes in Jet history - signing Favre.

i'm sure this doesn't register as a top 20 "mistake"... Jets history? Think about it.

    Seriously?

Out of all the many mistakes that have slapped this team in the face over the years, that is not one of them.

in an ideal world a team drafts their qb of the future at the same time their current qb's career is winding down. the vet teaches the young guy without worry of someday losing his job to the underling because of his age, etc. very few times does this actually work due to life's bad timing. i actually love the current qb situation. i believe this to be a true open competition. the job was never kellen's, so if he beats out sanchez, it's because he truly is the best qb in camp, if not, we have an unhappy back-up for one more year. we can sign a true vet back-up next year to show sanchez how to be a 'pro'...
