I've liked Fitzpatrick ever since the Bengals game in 2008 when Palmer was out, he's a competitor and a pretty good QB. Probably better than the Bills have had for a long time. Of course, the rest of the team stinks, so it doesn't matter.
I just wish we would have gotten a proven RT in free agency. I mean really, we are counting on Pears to come in be a starter Other then that our O-line isn't too bad. Glad Wood is back at his natural position as well. The left side will be beast, Levitre packed on some rediculous muscle this offseason. Bell, Levitre, Wood, Urbik, Pears My 10-6 prediction still stands, with a possible 12-4 ceiling
I think he could be a legitimate top level quarterback if he would hang in the pocket a little longer and give his receivers more time to make plays downfield. Of course if I had Buffalo's receivers and O-line, I'd probably spend most of my time running for my life also.
To the people asking about Buffalo's O-line...they haven't addressed it for over 10 years, so what makes you think they would start now?
I am. He is the greatest QB on his back. Truly. And it will stay that way this season too. Chan Gaily is a dumb fuck after all.
I think the Bills could legitimately be well-positioned for five wins this year. They have a spark you don't see in very many lousy teams, and that will be enough to get them over the hump. A couple good bounces here and there and they can absolutely pull this off. I think people also underestimate Chan Gailey, but what he did with that team last year was nothing short of miraculous.
The Bills played in a lot of close games last year. They always manage to get some big plays off their special teams and can be opportunistic on defense. J ohnson is a good WR but had some drops on some very catchable passes; Pitt game comes to mind. i think they played the Ravens and Pats well into the 4th quarter as well. Jackson and Spiller should do well again in the backfield and the TE started to come alive at the end of last year. Amazed that Gailey got his team to respond the way they did, he was awful in Dallas. Bottom line is they max out at 7-9 as a best record. They wont be a pushover though...
