with Jones at RT we would have one of the most athletic line sin football (after everyone matures), but I would still worry about our runblocking.

I'd like to know where all these zone blocking assumptions are coming from. They ran man blocking schemes in both New England and San Diego. In fact they pretty much ran mauling schemes with both teams (Mangini and Schottenheimer Jr.)

I wont like it ,but I wouldnt be suprised if Ferg was RT to start out the yr. Not many times the "so-called LT" starts the yr at LT. Gross took a couple yrs and gallery took til this yr. As for mangold starting at day 1 at Center?, I agree its 50-50. Like most of us said here Treague and Clement signings do nothing about who we will draft in the 1st rnd cause they are below avg and they wont be here after year 2. Just take the best potential and go from there.

anything is better than De Angelo Williams...

Where have you read we will use zone blocking? None of the CS is a zone blocking guru, and the way we went after Runyan, who is the exact opposite of what you want in a zone blocking RT, I was, and am convinced we'll use a man blocking scheme.

Ferguson is going to start, and stay at LT forever. Mangold may back up Teague at first. If he can handle calling the O line blocking assignments, then Teague will compete with Jones at RT. Clements? This guy is awful. Even after SF lost their LT, he could not hold on to either starting tackle position on one of the worst O lines in the NFL last year. He was SF's 4th or fifth OT by the end of the year.

Moore is another guy that should be depth, not a starter. He is a below average RG. I REALLY wanted a road grader at RT, and so did Tangini, or they never would have gone after Runyan as hard as they did..... which is why I also had some mixed emotions on the Ferguson pick. Can Jones become a power man blocker at RT? I hope so, this kid has been bounced around WAY too much already.

Will the Jets EVER be able to score on the ground with a first and goal on the five? Not with this line, as it is now.
