The players might not mesh with Rex's system like they did under Doug/Schwarz but I think Whaley has done his job in building a pretty good roster that should be looking to make the post season. Will be intresting to see how the Bills draft next year and just how many Rex picks they make. He could really take that franchise down the crapper for another 4-5 years.
What are you even talking about dude? I'm here trashing my own team, front office and coaches. That not good enough for you?
I don't know what the drafting process was with the jets, but Rex does not "make picks" in this organization. He really has little to no involvement in the draft. He admitted that last year and so did the GM.
Yeah... after Rex Ryan arrived at the Jets veteran leaders and fan favorites were dropping like flies. Some like fan favorite Jericho Cotchery (still productive with Carolina btw) were in a rush to get out of Rexville after Rex brought in his guy Derick Mason (out of the league). Some like Danny Woodhead (4TDs last week) were let go because Rex favored someone else like Joe McKnight (out of the league). It's just a shame that Whaley is not going to be any easy scapegoat like Brian Schottenheimer, Tony Sparano, Mike Pettine, Mike Tannebaum or John Idzik when Rex's bold predictions don't pan out. Whaley didn't let Rex throw him under the bus about Fred Jackson. He said this about the move: "I gather information from everybody, from the running backs coach to the offensive coordinator to the head coach and the owners," Whaley said via The Buffalo News. "I wouldn't be in this position -- especially with new ownership -- I'm going to include them. "That's my boss. We wouldn't make a decision without them."
On that note Buffalo fans should get ready from some for bad angles and missed tackles and QB's trucks on the 2nd level. "Super" Demario, 2nd coming of Ray Lewis, Davis is their opening day starter at ILB. Double book it if they decide that Rex needs more input in the player personnel.
The hits just keep on comin' http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...own-says-play-calls-coming-late-coaches-booth
We were told the same. You'll curiously pick up a friend of the Ryan family in Rounds 6-7 - maybe his son's pedicurist is playing linebacker at Clemson?
thats something that we saw for years here on both sides of the ball. play calls came in way too late.
Scenario: 3rd and whatever Ref: Penalty, 12 men on the field, 5 yards automatic first 1st down. Me: Again, what the F*** is this nonsense.
Assuming Rex stays on the off-season will probably see the Bills defense which is hella good at 4-3 being re-tooled for Rex's 3-4 system (so some lucky teams elsewhere are going to pick-up some good players). Problem is his defensive philosphy is 5-6 years out of date so the new 'D' will suck but you can't fire Rex because it's new players bedding into a system and you need to give him time to show it works. You'll have the odd game for which Rex has been gameplanning since week dot i.e Pats and Jets where the Bills will get close till the ill discipline starts and the penalties push them back but "they'll have shown a lot of heart", "Player 'X' was brilliant in practice" and so on. 2017 will still see the Bills suck but Tyrod and Sammy might pull of a late season win against a Pats team already with the #1 seed and perhaps a blowout of Miami. Therefore the team is looking like it might be turning the corner and a new dawn is rising in Buffalo. 2018 he'll be sacked, Bills will be a mess and hopefully TB will retire and then its' Bryce Vs Jimmy for AFC East supremacy.
Yeah Rex always denies he has power but other than the Idzik years he always has had a lot of say. I really don't think Whaley's bringing in IK on his own volition, or bringing in Incognito and Percy Harvin. Rex wasn't Whaley's hire, he was Pegula's.
If they were both let go now I'd wager that Whaley would draw a heck of a lot more intrest then Rexy.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm not surprised at all. It's hard not to have some sympathy for Bills fans, but their own owner did it to them. Rex is NOT HC material. He sucks and is too stupid to figure out anything or fix it.
Look on the bright side, it may actually be a good thing if the Bills suck for a few years so you can get Rex out asap. The alternative is making a few playoff runs...the owners falling in love with him, then giving him way to much power and destroying your team for a decade. Just root for them to suck again next year...it's best for the franchise.
Rex Ryan could be out in Buffalo after ominous words Man, if it just weren't for those damn injuries the Bills would be 15-0 right now. Rex making excuses, as always. Doesn't hold himself accountable, nothing. What a sad sack of shit, I actually feel a little bad for the Bills fans.
