old? like w/ Sanchez,Mangold, Brick, Keller, Holmes, Kerley, Greene, Wilkerson, Pouha(FA), Harris, Cromartie, Revis? That's pretty damn good group of young players to build around. We were on the doorstep of the SB the last 2 years w/ the same QB, it's so silly to think b/c we had a bad end of season that all of a sudden we won't compete again for years.

Losing 2 straight AFCCG's established false expectations for Jets fans this year.

In '09, if the Colts and the Bengals don't sit their starters, Jets finish the season 8-8 and miss the playoffs.

In '10, the mother of all upsets happened.

Until the Jets can finally dominate a regular season, win the division, get a 1st round bye and play a few playoff games at home, they will never be considered a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Bengals played their starters and pulled them once we hammered them in the first half. Colts played their starters and then pulled them.

I would say the mother of all upsets was Denver over Pitt this year or NYG over NE in 07. Any and every Jet fan was cautiously optimistic especially after the way we kept Manning in check. We understood 45-3 happened, but everyone always forgot Jimmy went down the Fri/Sat before the game and everything that could go wrong went wrong in 45-3. We also tried to start no huddle/ hurry up that game which we scrapped right after that. It was the perfect storm. It was such a big upset because everyone thought 45-3 was certain again even though two blowouts against the same team in the same year rarely if ever happens.

oh please, if, if, if. If we didn't blow some games early in the season we don't need the Indy and Cincy games. We got Indy backups for a qtr and a half in a close game, we thrashed Cincy starters before they pulled them.

We dominated that game at NE last season, that wasn't a fluke.

The Jets have been legit SB contenders the last 2 years, something NE has not as they haven't even won a playoff game. You guys are lucky the AFC stinks this year and we took a step back so you can play a team like Den in the div rd instead of a team like the '10 Jets.

Correct..we went from 11-5 to 8-8 in one year while playing really garbage teams. We couldn't even beat anybody with a winning record. We lost Jenkins, Richardson and Woody because they were old and it obviously hurt, next will be Scott maybe, Pace, Burress and LT..every year a few more and who is there to replace them with?

we made 2 title games w/o Jenkins and one w/o Woody.

we'll see who w get to replace those guys(thouh I don't expect all will be gone). We have a good GM that has given us a talented roster, I trust him.

The mother of all upsets was Super Bowl III. The Jets win over the Pats in the playoffs was like a second cousin twice removed.

Your points are well taken, but here is my problem with it - all those QBs had at least one game this year where they took the team on their shoulders and basically won the game. My memory may be faulty, but I can't remember Sanchez doing that once this whole season. That is a problem. That "game manager" crap is utter bullshit - in the NFL a QB has to WIN games for you.

He was pretty good in the SD game which was probably the high point of the season for this team.

What has he given since he picked Revis in 2007?

Yea, he was good that game, but that was more of a team win. I was referring to a QB leading his team from behind in the fourth quarter or driving for the score that puts the game away late. I just don't remember him doing that this season.

Wow - I post an article from another source and look at the shit-storm it creates. Just so you know - I didn't write the article. However, I still think Ben is a product of the system -> Excellent running game and top 5 D almost every year. When the Steelers beat the Jets last year in AFCCG, Ben finished with a 22 QB Rating. I guess that's great QB play in some peoples eyes? One escaped sack, one clutch throw at the end of the game, and a blown call by the officials won that game for the Steelers.

I'm certainly no Sanchez apologist but dumping your 25yo first round pick after 3 years is lunacy. He is not Jamarcus Russel or Akili or anyone that bad. Orton is a backup and he will not be taking the job away from Mark. Unless Peyton is coming in as a backup and mentor to Mark, No need for him to be here,. I'd still rather see Chad P here as the QB coach.

    Food for thought

If you want to rely on stats as a measurement for QBs, then Sanchez improved while the team around him digressed. That should say alot about the QB. If Sanchez as the haters claim, then should have went backwards from a stat perspective as well. The stat mongers should be able to easily find supporting information on PFF etc.

Where would the vaGinas be if they dumped their QB after 3 mediocre years. Lets not forget Eli's 3.5 years as a starter in college vs MS' 1.5.

9 other teams couldn't beat the 32nd ranked defense in the league this year. Maybe that team's offense is pretty good.

Tim Tebow is not a QB, he's an RB with a decent arm. And he has a pretty good defense, and plays in a mediocre division.

Home field advantage at 8-8? In the AFCE??? Only unless the Pats of 2011 had a "Marshall incident". Otherwise 12 wins is the only way to win the AFCE division. The Giants won it at 9-7, last years Seahawks say hi as well.

Let Sanchez play out his rookie contract. If there is a new OC for 2012, then 2013 will be his last year. Then look for another QB or draft one by then. Peytons, Bradys, & Brees only come along occasionally. Lets see how well Cam & Dalton do next year now that some tape is out on them.

Could these kind of anti-Sanchez comments cost you your job? I'm just looking out for you. God knows I wouldn't be posting on a Jets message board if I worked for them...

Redskins? Dallas to win at the buzzer? A 4 TD domination over the Chiefs?

This "Sanchez is a product of the system" bullshit is unreal.

    Go ask Matt Ryan

    Roddy White
    Julio Jones
    Michael Turner
    Tony Gonzalez

What the FUCK did that system get him, you fucking clowns?! 0 fucking points and an 0-fer in the playoffs, as in 0-3.

    Get lost.
