I think the key is to manage everyone's expectations. Of course he isn't going to step in Day 1 and be a HOF'er...he's going to have ups and downs, but if he truly is a FQB and as good as everyone says, he needs to get out there and begin practicing his craft. You can't learn from the sidelines or just in practice. If I were Bowles, (assuming he shows he's good enough to be out there) I would play him, and then if he gets himself into a deep hole, pull him, and let him watch from the sidelines a bit, then put him back in.
