Manning did not opt out. The guy set the record for consecutive wins and the Jets defense has given up 4th quarter leads to the Dolphins, Falcons, Jaguars, and Bills.

I'm not saying the Jets couldn't have beaten the Colts with all of their starters playing, but I am saying that the Colts didn't sit because they thought they were going to lose.

You must be living off of Crystal Meth if you think Topic 3 is a reality.

Topic 1: Retarded. Why would the Bengals rather play the #1 Defense and have Revis covering Ochocinco?

Topic 2: Painter beating the Bills? WTF are you smoking?

Topic 3: Manning wanted to play. He's not going to OPT OUT because he feels he MIGHT be embarrassed.

I feel dirty replying to your shitstain of a thread.

ill agree with 1 and 2. Im sure theyd rather face us with a rookie HC and QB with no playoff experience then Big Ben and the superbowl champs. Also i think manning will spank the bills enough that when painter comes in hes just got to hand the ball off. 3 is just plain silly. The best QB in the NFL doesnt give a rats ass about our D

The Bills are excellent against the pass, so Painter won't beat them. If anything beats them, it'll be the running game. If Peyton sits the entire game, the Bills will likely win.

Manning would have sold his left nut to get back in that game. In some alternate universe, I'd love to know what the final score would have been if he stayed in. It wouldn't have been a blowout, but I'm sure we would have lost.

the only way this is possible, is if the entire team was in on it. They would possibly do this bec they may have to face the Jets again in the playoffs. the pats had to face giants again after playing their starters for a perfect season, only to lose sb.

on Topic 3, manning opting out, don't be too quick to call this 'dumb'.

manning knew that half his team was getting pulled. all the kings horses and all the kings men if you will.

manning knew that if he 'stayed in' without any of his 'go to guys', he would get embarssed, just like Painter.

sure, he wanted to keep playing with his team, but with his team getting pulled, he wanted no part of the :jets:

again, that's my story and i'm sticking to it.

all the mannings have retarded egos, starting with the old man.

Topic 1 is the only legitamate point I see. No matter what the regular season looked like, I don't think ANY team would want to face the defending superbowl champs. Plus it's very difficult to beat a team twice in one year, the Bengals would have to do it 3 times. And of course, games against division rivals tend to be more competative regardless of the talent levels.

    The rest though: crap

I agree with Topic 1 - they have beaten the Ravens and Steelers twice each this season, but would anyone think they can win again against a hated division rival?? I think they would rather play our rushing based offense against their solid D, see if Sanchez can win a first playoff game on the road, and try to run the ball on us and let an experienced Palmer use his weapons at home.

They would be preferred to playing against Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Suggs, Ray Rice, Mason, and Flacco for the 3rd time or going up against Big Ben and an offense that can score point through the air.

    AFC Playoff Teams' Opponent Preferences

Don't you guys think that the Bengals and Pats would prefer that the Steelers are not in the playoffs and perhaps allow their games Sunday to end in a way that would ensure that?

Actually, I think the Bengals and Pats would prefer to play St. Louis.
