The Flex is tough. Definitely go with Peterson, Slaton, Fitz & Royal. Brown is the safer bet to give you something. The Receivers are a higher risk, higher reward play. I'd say if you're favored go with the RB as the flex. If you need something great in order to win, go with Ward or possibly Moore.
Help! I dominated my 14 team league during the regular season, but now I have tough match-ups & some injury question marks. Need to play 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RBs, a Flex, TE, K, & Def. My Defense is TB, my TE is Z. Miller, K is currently Carney & my QB & 1st WR are Warner & Fitzgerald. I figure that I have to ride the hot hand even against a bad match-up at my 1st RB slot (DeAngelo Williams vs Tampa Bay). After that it's hit or miss. I need another RB, WR & Flex. My options are: RBs: Kevin Smith vs Minn. (a definite play if the Williams Wall is suspended, but it's looking like the suspension was temporarily blocked) Sammy Morris @ Seattle (Splits time, but going against a terrible defense) Reggie Bush vs Atlanta (Is he finally healthy enough to put up #s?) Pierre Thomas vs Atlanta Derrick Ward vs Philly WRs: Anthony Gonzalez vs Cincy (Tends to put up huge numbers or nothing at all) Derrick Mason vs Wash. (Steady, but unspectacular #s) Donnie Avery (Has disappeared in recent weeks)
ugly lineup... well the williams wall has not been suspended, so i would aboid Kevin Smith. Based on your Rbs, I would go with Morris. Bush is back so thomas is losing carries, and Derrick Ward hasnt been fantasy consistent enough for me to start him against a good D like Philly's. WR wise, I would stay off avery, at least until he makes himself seen agains. Mason is a tough play because he gets garbage numbers, but if he gets a td... the garbage numbers look quite nice. gonzales as you said is hit or miss.... I would start Mason. Flex wise, I hate your recievers, so I take a gamble on Bush. If NO is going to win that game, Bush will get a ton of touches. if this is PPR, definately go Bush this week. if he doesnt produce, NO loses the game.
With the Minnesota DL suspensions overturned, I'd definitely downgrade anybody on the Lions - Kevin Smith or Megatron. Culpepper is going to be running for his life all game. On the flip side - it's a great day to start the Minnesota defense & Peterson. Vikings will get ahead early and run the ball all day. If Peterson breaks a couple of big runs he could have a 200 yard day. I'd think Chester Taylor would even be a good flex start since he'll probably get a ton of yards too.
I have the most points in my league but I'm struggling to make the playoffs because the teams I face have awesome weeks. I need a win to assure myself of a playoff spot. QB: Peyton Manning WR: Reggie Wayne WR: Anquan Boldin TE: Dallas Clark That leaves one WR spot, two RB spots, K, and defense. WR: Hixon, Toomer, Marvin Harrison, Joey Galloway, Deion Branch, Chad Johnson. Need to pick one of those (other options too, but nothing good). RB: LenDale White, Peyton Hillis, Chester Taylor, Willis McGahee, Pierre Thomas, Sammy Morris, Maurice Morris, Kevin Faulk, Le'Ron McClain, Derrick Ward, and Cedrick Benson are my options. Need two. K: Bironas, Gould, Elam, Hartley, Feely, Kris Brown, Nedney. Need one. DEF: Minnesota, Green Bay (hosting Houston), Seattle, Carolina, Cheatriots, and Indy are my options. Need one. I should've picked up SD and started them. Didn't notice that they were available.
WR: Tough one, I'd give Hixon a chance. RB: Hillis definitely. 2nd spot...probably either Lenwhale or S. Morris. K: Bironas is the man. DEF: Minnesota
RB: Joseph Addai (gametime decision) vs CIN or Sammy Morris at SEA WR: Ted Ginn Jr. at BUF (Toronto) vs Santonio Holmes vs DAL, Braylon Edwards at TEN, or Steve Breaston vs STL?
Jake Delhomme or Shaun Hill for a playoff game today I have started Delhomme all year save his bye week. I stuck with him through some of his spotty games and I made out okay. I haven't even had a 2nd quarterback on my roster almost the entire season, which is kind of crazy.
I went with Hillis and LenWhale at RB. Bironis at K. Waffled between Hixon and Jones and went with Jones. defense: someone grabbed minnesota just as I was about to. ended up starting indy thanks for the help.
I started Shaun Hill. I put him into my starting lineup a mere 7 or 8 minutes prior to kickoff. He did not disappoint. The Joe Staley touchdown was very bad, though. That would-have-been Hill TD pass cost me some additional points. score is- Oklahoma Mothballs 78.77 easydoesit 75.76 (I am the Mothballs. I specialize in particularly oddball team names often times involving household items. Tampa Wallpaper and Memphis Stoves have been a couple of the really good ones.) I still have Jon Beason to go and my opponent has Chris Cooley. Based on the league settings, if Beason has a typical performance for him, I should be able to hold on for a win providing there are no crazy stat adjustments with any of the players who have already played today.
Assuming no stat adjustments, my team has won. Oklahoma Mothballs 78.77 easydoesit 76.56 My team will now go on to play in the semifinals.
I'm done. The dream is dead. I left Shaub and his 400 yds on the bench, and went with Reggie Wayne over Vince Jackson. Ah well.
yeah, I left Vincent Jackson on the bench and started Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin, and Matt Jones. The guys I started did almost nothing and Jackson had a huge game. I win anyway, thanks to Peyton Manning and the Indy defense. I'll get the #3 seed because the team in front of me lost. I still have easily the most points in the league. Bironas also disappointed.
For a playoff matchup this week should I go with Jay Cutler vs Carolina or Tony Romo vs the Giants? I'm leaning towards Cutler even though Romo usually plays pretty well against the Giants.
I'm in an 8-team league, top 4 make the playoffs which start this week... Favre vs. Schaub 3 of: A. Johnson, Boldin, Santana Moss, K. Walter 2 of: Westbrook, T. Jones, Deangelo Williams, Jones-Drew 1 of: Gates, Keller I'm leaning to: Favre Johnson, Boldin, Moss Westbrook, Deangelo Gates. Thoughts?
