In all honesty, what are the odds that VG is on the roster next year? Can we just cut him? Or would the team lose too much $$?
Part of the problem was VG had a huge combine. Without the monster numbers he put up in the combine, his draft value wouldn't have been inflated as much, and a team (us) wouldn't have taken him so high... therefore he wouldn't have been considered such a bust. He's performed like a 3rd rounder, in my opinion. He's a depth player, and nothing special. It was a gamble to take him, but the coaching staff problem had the balls to think they could make a player out of this athletic beast.
He was 8-12 overall before the combine. Then he became a 6-8 overall pick after the combine. Only a small handful of GMs had a late round grade on him.
Yeah, he was talked about as being a high 1st rounder during his final season at Ohio State. All the combine did was maybe bump him up a few more spots.
ingnore the position because it isnt of as much importance as qb or tackle but if we are talking flat out bust i think he is the all time biggest bust in the history of the nfl. 24 tckls 0 sks 0 fum 0 fum recov 0 int and the 24 tckls is misleading cause it was on special teams probably ran into the guy on accident. over 3 yrs
I wouldn't say ever, but he's in the top 5. and the worst pick in jets history, tanny's one major mistake. imagine if gholston was just decent, our d would of been even better.
why the hell was this bumped from the dead, vernon ghoulston being a bust is old as hell news, seriously let it go.
