With the 22nd pick in the 2006 TGG Mock Draft, the [IMG] select:

    DE/OLB Manny Lawson, NC State.

Pass rushing was the Achillies' heel of the Broncos last year and in their loss to Pittsburgh Big Ben had a lot of time to stand back there and pick away at Denver's secondary. Although Lawson is a bit undersized for a 4-3 DE, the same was said about guys such as John Abraham and Dwight Freeney who are now all-pro DE's. His pass rushing skill is amazing... and he is 6'5'' so he's not as undersized as one may think. If Manny can bulk up 10-15 pounds he'll be able to become one of the dominant pass rushers in the NFL.

Nice pick, the Broncos need a pass rusher. JW, who was your other choice?

I'm now looking to trade up. Will trade CB Mike McKenzie and my 2nd round pick (#34 overall) for first and third round picks.

Alright I have to go and I'll be back around 6:30... if the Bucs miss their pick at 2:30 they'll take OT Eric Winston, Miami (FL) and then the Bengals can go on the clock. Hopefully NYJATW, dwalsh, or HW get back soon...

I confirm that. The Saints have two corners, Craft and Thomas, who are capable of starting, so McKenzie was available. I also wanted to move up to take the player whom I will take after the Bucs make their selection.

    Current Selection:

With the 23rd overall selection in the 2006 TGG.com mock draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select WR Santonio Holmes, OSU.

    [IMG][IMG]

The first selection would've been Earnie Sims, but he's off. Next in line was Marcus McNeil, but with the depth at OT in the draft a tackle can be picked up later. Offensive minded Gruden, IMO, won't pass up on this kid. He has Galloway replacement written all over him: Both around 5'11, 4.34 40, OSU. The best and most productive WR comming into the draft. Would be playing across from young Clayton when Joey calls it a career. Brought it up with other Buc fans and many tend to agree. It's a twist, I know, but twist happen all the time.

Now the Bengals have two good CB with O'Neal and McKenzie. The player I would have chosen might be there at#34 (OK,it's not likely but it could happen)

Very interesting pick, Holmes is a major steal at this point and will give the Bucs a fantastic young offense with Simms, Caddy, and two young recievers in Clayton and Holmes. The Bucs needed some WR depth with Galloway getting older and really nothing after him and Clayton, so not a bad choice and great value.

The Saints (me!) are now on the clock.

With the 24th pick in the 2006 TGG Official Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

    Chad Greenway, OLB, Iowa

Even though Greenway had poor workouts, he is IMO the 3rd best OLB prospect and fills by far the biggest need for the Saints, who now only need two more linebackers to have a good LB core. IMO Greenway is a steal at this point, as in some mocks he is projected to go a lot higher, and I think moving up for him was worth it as he is a step above the other linebacker prospects available, whom I didn't see lasting to my spot in the 2nd round.

Sorry man. PPP10 looks to have had his heart set on Greenway so I don't think he woul'd've taken Holmes anyway. I don't know if we can just throw him back and you make another selection. Putting him back on the board.

    Who would you have taken?

    (Check your PMs... Sorry again)

I'm here. Just give me a second. Didn't realize I was on the clock - I don't get home until 3:30 anyway.
