Trade Abe and Ramsey to the Falcons for Schaub, a 2nd rounder and a 6th.

Forgive me if it's been posted already, I didn't want to read through every page.

on the third straight year, he wont get the average salary of the top 5 DE or LBs, whichever he's calling himself now. He would get the average salary of teh top 5 QBs

An experienced NFL QB for a sixth round pick is a GREAT trade.

what the hell do you think you are going to get with a 6th round pick?

Trade Abe and Ramsey to the Falcons for Schaub, a 2nd and a 6th rounder. That will satisfy their worries for a backup for Vick. Don't know if this scenario has been posted... didn't want to read through everything.

    Happy St Pattys!

Screw Atlanta. I hope Seattle and Vaj-raham works out a deal. And I'll be happy with Ramsy for now.

Thats what I thought the new rule under the CBA to mean. I read it as a player that is Franchised three times in a row is in line to recieve the pay of the top five players in the nfl. Which of course would be QBs. I could be wrong. If I am not however that means they wont be tagging him next year. They have to trade him this year to get something for him or else he just goes where he wants next year and you guys get nothing.

So true, both Ramsey and Joey are useless. I hope this doesn't signal the end of Chad

I love the deal. Ramsy is no Favre, but I think if given the chance, he could be a good QB. Just the fact that we got a QB drafted in the first round or a 6th rounder is reason enough to be happy. We just got a solid backup at the least.

And Schaub will be a RFA next year, so you risk losing him or matching a lucrative contract from someone and having a ton of $ tied up in your QB position.

I agree. The time to deal him is now. If it was up to me I would give you Schaub for Abe straight up. I think its a good deal for both.

Of course you think thats a good idea.

And i am certain that you can understand why Jet fans do not think that

We got Ramsey? He's okay... but I'd still draft Leinart.

You dont think thats a good idea? Why not? You get a franchise type QB with huge upside for 10+ years. In return we get a elite DE. There is a reason the Falcons wont deal Schaub...its because hes the real deal and a huge safety net incase Mr excitement goes down(god forbid).

sorry the risk is on our side we need a pick to go along with Schaub, hate to tell you but ATL may like him and he may be great, but Abe is great, and has done it...therefore the team taking on more risk needs more than just upside in the form of Draft picks in this case

You answered your own question. While Schaub has upside potential (no guarantee) ...you get an elite DE (guaranteed). Its pretty simple.

Thats exactly why a 1 for 1 trade is great for you but unacceptable for us.

Exactly. No risk at all (unless the Skins use that pick to draft the next Brady). 6th round pick for a solid backup/ or potential starter with upside is not bad at all.

What people seem to forget is that Brees was on fire to start his career. He actually only had one bad year, and then came back again. Has Ramsey had any success yet? I'm not downing the idea, hell, it could work, I just don't believe it will happen.

Given that it was only a 6th rounder, I have no problem with the trade. Even if Ramsey never plays a snap, we still made a great trade.

With a deal already struck with the Seahawks, we have the leverage over Atlanta. Hang up the phone on them unless they're willing to talk to us about the 15th overall pick.

    Enough said.
