7 NFL QB' had a passer rating over 90, 4 threw for over 3500 yards and 3 threw 25 or more TD's. The seperation between the elite QB and the average NFL QB is huge. There are barely 15 starting caliber QB's in a 32 team league. I buy into the fact that an average talent can be a starting QB in the NFL the league is littered with them. You want a great QB to lead your team, it gives you the best chance in the elimanition tournament to win the whole thing being great unless your name is Joe Montana has always meant having an above average NFL arm and a quick release.
I agree that the separation between elite and average QB's is huge. But if you think that the number 1 difference is arm strength and quick release, then you are wrong in my opinion. It is definitely a factor, but to single it out as most important factor is just plain wrong.
WINSTON>>>>You have told us who you don't like..I asked in the post below..WHO DO YOU LIKE? Winston..I have seen you on other threads suggesting taking Mario Williams (if available) with the #4. Fair enough..he'll be a stud. that being said, you don't like Schaub. what QB should we get?..and apparently only strong armed QBs need apply. Let us know your thoughts..Thanks
I'm not singling it out as the most important factor just pointing out that it is a major factor. There is a reason the Jets haven't won a SB since Namath. Namath was the last great QB we had and he had a great arm and a lightning fast release to go with it and it mattered big time. By the way Vinnie had a great arm and while he was not a great QB, he took the Jets further than any QB since Todd and Namath precisely because of his arm stregth and the fact that he had a coaching staff that got him under control.
 it will be the only way we ever get anything productive out of preacher herm. give them k.c. 's 4th rounder!
I'm just giving you guys a headsup - I really don't care how you take it - just thought you may be interested.....
I am willing to shake on that. I over-reacted. It was the first thing that popped into my head, and my fingers were moving before I had a chance to think. You have to substantiate your source, credentials, etc., etc. for me to take this seriously.
