My source is in the Falcons front-office. As for what I report earlier and my source being dead on, please go back to Monday. When everyone was thinking that a trade was inevitable between the Jets and Seattle, I told started a thread to hint that the Falcons would make a serious run at Abraham and not to count them out. I could only say so much, then late Tuesday night it was reported by ESPN that the Falcons were in talks with us.
Detroit signs McCown I think Harrington is odd man out. I would definately take a look at this guy. I don't care what he did in Detroit. Detroit Lions are like the Cardinals, no matter what they do they will always suck. I'm not saying we get Harrington and don't look at anyone else. So don't jump all over me. He is going to get cut, when he does bring him in and lets see what he can do with Schotty Jr.
Schaub is less of a risk than Cutler, Leinart or Young Few things make Schaub much less of a risk than one of the top draft guys: 1. His salary number is very low 2. You don't have to pay him a signing bonus So the financial risk on Schaub is dramatically less More importantly though he has shown success in the NFL. Yes, limited but he has proven he can compete at this level. Throw in the fact he has all the skills and is very smart and it all adds up to Schaub being a safer prospect than the top draft guys. I hope that we get him. I saw him play last year and I think he is a potential franchise guy for the Jets.
Mother fu@!#r I work for a living. I don't have time to sit around and read all this stuff. Instead of busting people's balls answer the question or move on. dick! 7 Days
Rob Johnson had one good game with Jacksonville- "the Schaub of the time" if you will. We all know what happened after that.
I think he is. He might end up being a good player, and I'd like him on the team, but not for the price of a pro bowl pass rusher. I'd rather a first round pick for Abraham than Schaub.
with a player like abraham it may behoove the jets to try and include a conditional 07 pick..... abraham could have a career year next year (jets luck of course) with 15+ sacks in 16 games. a change in scenery can spark these things. we can talk all day about value charts, picks, etc etc but the jets in a way have forced themselves to make a move with abe and unfortunately they are not in a very good bargaining spot. jil
No Leinart and no trading up!!! That would be the old way and wrong way. Leinart will be a bust. Think of it this way: if Cutler, Brodie Croyle or even Omar Jacobs were on the USC team would have they had a worse record than Leinart I don't think so. This is a team with two first round RBs and first round OL. Leinart is an illusion from an unbelievable supporting cast. He will be a bust in the NFL.
The least I'd accept is Schaub and a 2nd. Schaub is pretty unproven, and Abraham is a rare player. We should get atleast Schaub and a 2nd.
If any other QB was on USC, I figure over the past 3 years (when they lost 2 games with Matt), they'd have lost in the range of eight.
moras assesment on schaub trade lets be honest mr. mora.abraham has a lot more value then an unproven q.b. like schaub.as far as I am concerned if nobody wants to give equal value for abraham.then the jets should keep abraham and play him at outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense. I like that scenario a lot better then an unproven schaub.
why would u give up a proven pro bowl end just to move up two spots?! If we cant trade him for a mid to early first round pick then we should just keep him. And about that culpepper thing for a second round pick, Abraham isn't coming off a season in which he tore up just about every muscle in his knee and or one where he was on a sex boat....
OVERRATED! i would so much rather draft cutler or young or leinart than trade a pro bowl end for some unproven back-up.
