what do you guys prefer, ny style or authentic Italian? There's a place in Ridgewood NJ called Best of Everything that has the best Italian style I've had outside of Italy. Down here in RVA surprisingly there's some Italian restaurants now that have legit za. My fav one is officially recognized by the Italian govt (lmao) the head chef is big fat guy named Clemenza, he made it to the quarters on Hell's Kitchen. For Ny style and beer Mellow Mushroom is pretty good. Never had real deep dish, I want to go to chi town one day just to try it.
I'm sure that uncooked dough wrapped around a ten day old armadillo tastes great when you're piss dunk at a Husker game. Doesn't mean it's not terrible.
Chicago Style pizza sucks balls. It's like a giant cake with a little ketchup, cheese & pepperoni on top. nasty. Pizza is just another example of where NY kicks Chicago's ass.
Well, on pizza, yeah, but ftr I think the NYC area has some limitations on the food front. Good Mexican imo is very hard to find. Somewhat less so is good barbecue, but it's not easy. Fresh seafood is expensive compared to, say, Florida. It probably balances out. Imo the tri-state area is also great for diners. you can take them for granted, but in fact you don't see that kind of place around in many parts of the country.
