Jesus Christ dude get off the "kids" jockstrap. You have posted all through this thread your undying love for this guy and anyone who isn't a celebrity loving whore can see the kid doesn't have what it takes to make it. He is the next tim tebow, here today gone tomorrow, forgotten in a month or two just a matter of time.
I tell you what after watching most qbs, some are better prospects no question but im pretty satisfied we only gave up a 2ยบ round pick in a poor talented draft to get Geno. We might not get a Aaron Rodgers out of him but i think he can deliver a superbowl with good talent around him with an elite defense.
If the Jags take care of the rest of their team, they're going to be a major concern sooner rather than later. Bortles looks like the real deal! Garoppolo looks like a keeper. Brady may have to move to another team, ala Montana and Manning if he really wants to play into his 40's... Manziel looks to be out of the top 3 right now in the rookie QB rankings.... Bridgewater looks a lot better also
Does anyone here think Geno Smith looked better than Garappolo in his first preseason?? Not understanding why Jets didn't just sign JG or some other QB as the real insurance policy for the future if Geno doesn't play as he did against pathetic Giants during regular season. We are betting hard on Smith as the future of this team and that might very well happen. If not, Vick aside, you have to start from scratch at a major skill position. Hard choice is would you have taken a QB in round two this year over Amaro. Idzik made no moves with our Round 3 on selections although he claims to have. Did Idzik play this as badly as he did with our CB situation?
If I could have a say about the draft strategy, I would have gone with 2 CBs at the top of the draft last year. I was totally fine with Milliner pick, but I absolutely hated Geno pick. I could understand the logic, but seeing the QB crop was noticeably better a year after, I thought it would be prudent to give Sanchez last chance to either prove his worth or get a QB early the next year. I've been supporting the idea of keeping Sanchez around for at least 2+ years in Idzik's tenure for a reason; I wanted to see if Sanchez was as bad as he looked under Schottenheimer and Sparano because he sucks that much inherently, and if he does suck that bad, maybe he can take beating for the heir apparent come the newly minted QB. [You could find me saying exactly the same stuff for the past few years if you try. I didn't just come up with this idea out of my own ass, looking at things in hindsight.] And Jets weren't keen on keeping Cro for a long term either - as such, Jets were in a situation to draft 2 potential starters for CBs soon. Sure, Jets FO would have caught a lot of flaks for drafting 2 CBs but that looks like the path they should have taken, especially since Idzik wasn't keen on signing a retread CB FA during the free agency period. [DRC looked real good last night - thank god Jets didn't bother with that bum.] And that would have caused a lot of ire from the Jets fandom, but then this would be Sanchez's last hurrah as well - with a good QB pick this draft, Jets could be onto something next year. Instead Jets still have shaky CBs, and somewhat shaky QBs with no reliable alternative for the future.
Through 3 games: Jimmy Garoppolo 24/37 (64.8%) 334 yds 4 TD 0 INT (129.7 Passer Rating) Blake Bortles 28/45 (62.2%) 435 yds 1 TD 0 INT (101.6 Passer Rating) Carr has only played 2 games, however since the Raiders have already played: Dereck Carr 19/32 (59.3%) 183 yds 1 TD 1 INT (72.7 Passer Rating) If I remember I'll update the rest after this weekends games. So far both Bortles and JG have really impressed me, as did Bridgewater last weekend. Also to note, I know for a fact that both JG and Bortles have led more scoring drives that don't show up in their stats, I haven't personally watched too much of the others.
JFF scrambles for a 7 yard TD. Kept his head up and didn't fully commit to the run, probably opened up the space he needed to do that.
The play prior to the TD, he got a delay of game penalty after a penalty on the OL. Rookie mistake, can't have that penalty with all that type
I know it's early and very premature, but I think the JAGS finally have found a franchise QB. Bortles looks legit
Thanks for that, doing it game by game was becoming a pain. Bridgewater didn't get a lot of chances last night, two drives started inside KCs redzone but he looked awfully comfortable throwing 2 sweet TDs. Thank guy is going to be a great QB, needs some time but when he gets it he'll be top 5 guy. Yup. So much for him coming out of nowhere as all hype, the scouts look to have gotten this one right. _
The little fake pass just before he got to the line might have helped too. Russell Wilson has perfected that. _
You're right but for a guy who never went into a huddle in college ever, having plays relayed in on a sign with a big letter on the sideline, you kind of have to expect that. _
