Thomas who?? Thomas Jones you say? Hmmm... doesn't ring a bell... I kept saying this guy could be a huge surprise this season. Everything you read about him indicated his injuries were what was holding him back, coupled with the shift to a passing offense in SD. With the OL the Jets have built you could bring Emmit out of retirement and get some excitement still. The only thing better than watching LT tear it up for the Jets on Sunday, is having picked him up deep in the draft in my money league and have him rack up mad points.
That is just awesome... they say in his first 3 games as a Jet he's averaging 5.6 ypc... his highest average in any year of his career. That is a damn good omen right there.
Maybe we should start a "The T. Jones Watch Thread" like the "Tomlinson Watch Thread" at the Chargers forum... nah...that's stupid.
Dude, he's played FOUR games as a Jet. And he's averaging 6.1 YPC. In other words, as good as you just thought he was...he's been better.
I was stoked as well when we signed him because, like you, I get to watch all the Chargers games out here. and watching him play, it was apparent the Chargers run game was total shit, it wasn't simply LT. sure, while it was possible he simply hit a wall, I found it unlikely; a guy doesn't go from being that good to that bad just like that unless Herm Edwards runs him in to the ground. had he lost a step? certainly. but not how bad the Chargers were making him look. the surprising thing was how none of the experts could see something so obvious.
Ahhhh but one of them did, our boy REX!!! He had all the faith in the world that LT was gonna shock the NFL world, he predicted that he was capable of performing at a high level! Remember in Hard Knocks when he said "I love it when I'm right!", talkin about LT.
I love how LT is playing, he looks quick and has always had great vision, but to me it only proves what I have thought all along that you could plug any RB with a marginal level of talent behind this OL and he'd have success. However, I will say LT made a few Bills miss in the open field today, he looks really FAST out there. Keep it going LT.
Whitner just got himself famous on that play
McKnight is yet to prove he can hang in the NFL. I said a RB with marginal talent (someone who has had some success in this league) could look way better behind an OL like ours. You disagree?
Watching LT play has been a real thrill this year. He's so fired up and effective, fits perfectly with the OL and MS. What a huge help he is.
Happy LT is a Jet, was always a big fan of his.............. Nobody got a jet Gif of LT's run up yet???
I really wasn't overly excited as I thought he was worn down as well...... I was WRONG and am thoroughly enjoying watching the bounce in his step. Hopefully it lasts through the season! I hope they don't wear him down Carries per game: Greene 20 LT 15 Smith 3-5 McKnight (if they're kicking ass) 5
