You present a good arguement but there are plenty of reasons to hate the Patriots more than the Giants. Let's be honest there has been alot of hatred between the two franchises since Parcells and Martin left the Pats and came to NY. Then you have the Chicken and his crumbled up Denny's napkin resigning after a day on the job. Throw in the fact that the Dolphags went undefeated and you'd have two teams in our division that went undefeated. It's sorta the same reason why Yankee fans rooted for the Mets way back in 86. It's not because we like the Giants but we hate Boston. I only have to deal with 2 best friends that are Giants fans not an entire city like most. Out in Vegas I have to deal with tons of "Boston" fans that all of a sudden are coming out of the woodwork. I think I can say with certainty that if not for the success of The Sox and Celtics I'd be more inclined to root for the Pats but to be honest the success of the Pats and my hatred of the Chicken have made me hate the Red Sox and Celtics too. It's not fickle NY fans as I only root for the Giants when I bet them which is rare because I'd rather not bet them and not have to root for them. The only other time in my life I rooted for the jints was when they got killed by the Ravens only because I didn't wanna see a murderer win the SB. I don't think you are gonna see that....it was the Giants D that lost that game a few weeks ago not Eli. Burress is going to have a big game in the SB and so will Eli. The Pats D is not what is winning them games. It's that they can outscore anybody and can score pretty much at will. Not because they are getting away with pass interference.
I wouldn't count the Patriots d out, they had a strong showing yesterday and BB usually tears young qb's to shreds the second time around. The Giants haven't started too fast this postseason and if they don't in two weeks and the Pats get up 14-0 on them Eli will look very very bad when against a pass-first defense that no longer has to worry about the run.
I think the Chargers not scoring TD's had more to do with the immobilty of Phil Rivers and the inability of Norv Turner to call plays. Who the hell runs the ball twice inside the 10 when you are at the 9? Throw in that Gates was banged up and LT didn't play and I'd say the Pats defensive stands weren't that impessive. The Pats can and will be thrown on and the good running mix the Giants bring should be succesful against that D.
Personally, the Giants are just another team to me, but I absolutely despise the Pats and Red Sox. I really hope the Pats get crushed. But seriously do the Patriots actively recruit a-holes or does everyone just become one when they join the team?
I agree with the people who dont see the big rivalry against the giants. they are like any other team to me. as far as us jet fans and the jets being treated like secind class citizens, well we are. we are a disgrace of an organization that hasnt even had a fraction of the usccess that the giants have had.
