Cmooon Eli. Do it for Jet fans one time. I don't care that some of you, my fellow Jet fans hate the Giants, there's no way anyone could root against them in this game. Are their fans obnoxious? Yes. Would it push us even further into 2nd class citizen status? Yes. Would it make you want to vomit to think about the simple fact that the Giants are Super Bowl champs? Probably. But guess what, they have a chance to simultaneously screw every single Boston sports fan in the ass with one victory. That's more than good enough for me. Cmon, seriously. The Pats winning their first EIGHTEEN games then losing in the Super Bowl? That's probably the greatest thing that could happen to Jet fans short of... eh, why even say it.
The Islanders somehow winning the Stanley Cup this year, is the only thing that will turn this nightmare of a sports year around for me (jets, mets and nd fan)
I used to be a St. John's fan but I lost all of my passion when Jarvis demolished the program. Felipe, Zendon, Omar, etc. were guys I loved watching growing up. I'm at grad school at Stony Brook right now but their basketball team blows right now . I'm partial to Big East football in general (my undergrad didn't have a team) so the WVU win was pretty nice. Notre Dame this season was rough Yeah Semper, an Islanders Stanley Cup win would really, really, really help

Forsberg and another defenseman(somebody steady like Tallinder) is what they need. The east is crap this year and they'll have as good a chance as anybody with Dipietro in net. Now this is how it must've felt to be a Ranger fan from 1980-1984
I really don't get the hatred with the Giants. We play them every preseason and once every 3 years. No big deal. I don't hate them any worse than any other team. I'll be rooting hard for the Giants against the Pats.

Since I'm not a New Yorker, i am not accustomed to the cross town rivalry, but even the Giants are a better choice than the Pats ats_suck:
As I've explained many times before, any Jets fan over the age of 50 who doesn't despise the Giants is a mystery to me. I'll let the younger folks give their own explanations.
I'm one of the younger folks. I don't have such a hatred for the Giants like I do for say the Mets, but I just root for one NY team, and one NY team only. However, I'm def. rooting for the Giants in the Superbowl.
I can say that when i was alot younger, and when the Pats were downright dreadful...Giant fans were pretty mean w/ their intentions. It's kind of why as a Yankee fan, I tend to lay off the Mets..b/c I know alot of Yankee fans do the same thing to them that giant fans have done to me over the years.. W/ that said, for the past few years the Jets have gone back to being a respectable franchise(ignoring this past season) and Giant fans are generally supportive of the Jets, and appreciate the prospect of an all NY super bowl on any given year.. I'll be rooting for them in the super bowl for sure(Especially since Tiki is no longer on the team)

I'm very old. When I started watching football, I rooted for the Jets in the AFL and the Giants in the NFL. I can't stand New England. Go Giants.
Well 9 out of 10 Jets fans are Mets fans so how u hate the Mets but love the Jets I don't know??? I am 100% for the Pats, you won't hear then end of it from the likes of the ny post, Mike & the madd dog, the this week in football group etc, this is a nightmare for jets fan no matter what, but as a Mets fan, I can give a shi* less about Boston, let the Pats have their perfect season, as long as the Giants don't get any glory as if they are NY's #1 team...
I know that you're part of my generation, wexy, and I cannot understand how you could have ever done that. It didn't bother you that the Giants and their fans had nothing but disdain for anything related to the Jets? Rooting for both teams would have made my head explode.
Yeah, and the rest of us Jets fans under 35 are gonna have a great time in two weeks rooting for one of our local teams against our biggest current division rival. The OP and some of the rest of you need to get a grip. GO BLUE!
