A bye doesn't count as a win on your playoff record. If you lose its better for the away team that played the wildcard game.
The more I think about it Adam Gase is the best candidate out there right now. I'm not feeling McCarthy at all. I just don't think he's that good of a coach and he's been around a loooong time. What you see is what you get zero upside with him. If developing Darnold, installing a modern offense is priority #1 then Gase should be the guy. He has the most upside, he could actually grow along with Darnold & Adams. I HOPE he's the guy the Jets select.
Doesn't count as a W on the playoff record, but I think it should be considered way more than it is. Earning the bye is better than having to play wildcard weekend. It's a win without even risking injury, and that often gets overlooked. One and done imo, is losing wildcard weekend. A team who wins on wildcard weekend and loses divisional weekend, should get more credit than a team who loses divisional weekend after a bye?
Dear Johnson Nut Sacks, Please...No safe picks and preferably no retreads. Swing for the fucking fences. Do not waste the best QB you've had in 50 fucking years. If you want to win big, you need to bet big. You'd know that if you ever actually built anything in your lives. You dildo's could fuck up a wet dream. Whatever your poorly evolved instincts tell you, do the opposite. Sincerely, A Jets Fan
Haven't observed the Chargers much this year but from what I've seen Lynn seems to be a much better motivator and very much on top of things and in control of his team over Bowles.
Worried about this. He needs to be an OC first. Jets want the next McVay just like we wanted the next Belichick in 2006. This sort of stuff usually doesn't work out so well for us. You want to be the first to get "the guy", all those that come after usually don't measure up. I like Rhule over Kingsbury
I like Caldwell. He had a winning record 5 of 7 years. Took the Lions to 2 playoff appearances. Take out the Curtis Painter year and he has a pretty amazing win percentage. He is older which I consider a huge plus. Well respected and connected having the ability to hire a good staff. He is Calm with the personality to handle the NY media. My die hard Lions fan friend who usually hates every Lion even likes Caldwell. Caldwell is my 3rd preferred candidate behind Ruhle and Monken even though I consider Caldwell the most qualified candidate by a rather big margin that we are interviewing. I understand the hate for retreads and for coaches who make poor clock and game decisions but he is a good coach and deserving of a new HC job.
We have to at least bring him in for an interview. Be interested to see how he would pitch running the offense with his style. Can't hurt to at least talk to him, like with all the others whom we've interviewed.
While i'm not sold on him as HC material yet, might be an uphill battle to get him vs AZ. Doubt he would take an OC job here if he has the fast track for HC in AZ
I find that hard to believe considering they have been announcing on Twitter when they are interviewing candidates. As many people have already noted, La Canfora is pretty unreliable.
I know it's not popular but I'd rather have him as HC than Kingsbury, the guy from Baylor or the Bucs OC. Caldwell has a winning record as an NFL HC. I don't want him but he's better than a lot of guys we are looking at. Pair him with a dynamic OC and we may have a good team.
If they were going to interview Ruhle it likely would have happened already while they were in Texas to interview Richards.
I agree with this, and raised that question as well. Unless it's on the hush in respect to Baylor? For their recruiting efforts?
