We don't know if La Canfora's tweet is accurate, speculation, or just a wild guess. Even if it is accurate, it may not be a terrible thing. I wanted an experienced HC, and wanted McCarthy, but his play design and play calling scared me. If we can get Rhule (even though it's probably a year or two early) or Monken, I'll have some hope. With Kingsbury or anyone else, no hope, and it's sayonara.

San Diego did a good job making the best of a bad situation. They have the d to match up with Brady.

I was only lukewarm on McCarthy but was much more confident in his ability to assemble a quality staff as opposed to a college coach.

    Brady is unimpressive this season.

I like SD matchup with NE as I'm more confident in Rivers going against the NE D as opposed to a rookie.

Who can forget 'Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp'? I know those chimps were exploited so it kind of pains me now, but as a kid I was fascinated. Again, armchair primatologist and let me just say chimps are NOT pets. They wage war, plan, depose rulers, develop hunting strategies, commit murder, steal each others shit, back stab those they don't like, use tools, and will rip off your face and your genitals. Oh, wait, I've confused them with the human race. However, if we could all be Bonobos the world would be a better place. <== Incidental rhyming.

On the flip-side, I knew someone who worked in a Chimpanzee research lab. It was absolutely devastating and traumatizing stuff to hear. She completely burned out. On the bright side, I called the Jets vs. Cheats PO game 'The Battle For the Planet of the Apes'. The Chimp was victorious.

In a nutshell and here's my point. People argue about what the best job in the NFL is. Based on any metric the Metro NY area which is completely based on proximity to NYC has a huge opportunity component for any competent head coach with any professional mojo. They only negative to the metro area is weather and cost of living. Clearly the Jets have the money to compensate for the cost of living component. Any HC who doesn't want to be here isn't qualified to be the Head Coach of the NY Jets. We need someone who has the balls to embrace the team and the community. If Mike McCarthy wants to raise his kids in Green Bay or some other cultural wasteland, see you later.

Having the mojo to succeed in NYC is part of the resume.

I don’t think it’s what McCarthy wants as opposed to what he is already doing. His kids are already being raised (I’m not going to say cultural waste land as it just comes across as elitist) in Green Bay. Uprooting the kids is a lot to ask. Uprooting the kids to such a different environment,I’m guessing he just can’t bring himself to do it. Good for him, too many coaches go at this with little regard for their families. Ain’t that right Andy Reid?

It was revealed yesterday that Bieniemy did some pretty vile things in his past. No chance he gets this job after a DUI, choking a female parking attendant, and harassing two female athletic trainers while at Colorado. He's a mess and no longer a candidate

Monken isn’t the head coach we all want but he’s the coach that we need
