I wasn't suggesting he had a non-compete. I don't know anything about his contract just that USC has denied him permission to interview and the NFL will enforce it. Someone asked me a question about how I would feel if MY employer prevented ME from getting a better higher paying job. Not how Kingsbury feels or how legally enforceable it would be in California. As I've said, if he can buy himself out and he really wants to move on, he should do it. But no one should be blaming or shaming USC for trying to hang on to him.
When was the last HC trade which involved multiple number 1 draft picks? The only way Harbaugh leaves is if both parties, or one party, wants to move on. That lowers the leverage quite a bit, and forces a trade or nothing scenario for the team.

Those 2 and Kingsbury make up my top 3 of the realistic candidates McCarthy I never really liked...I understood that he’s a safe choice that could probably be good for Darnold. But the reasons that he got fired in GB were very concerning
Any name from the current list of candidates that we've heard about will be the wrong hire. Outside of McCarthy, it was a terrible list, and certainly not one that was indicative of a franchise that was going "Big Game Hunting".
