Obviously, the pinnacle of enjoyment is seeing your team win the only trophy available for it to win but you have put a disclaimer in saying you won't get excited if the Bears win the Super Bowl, yeah no problem, you enjoy the sport without getting excited over it. #fuckingpointless
Swann can try and block him in theory, but what in the hell would stop KK, or any college coach or OC / DC from meeting / interviewing with an NFL team?
Kingsbury can walk away from the USC job at anytime as he has a very low buyout and he'll easily get an NFL OC job, if not a HC job. Rhule as HC and KK as OC has some intrigue to it. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/01/05/kliff-kingsbury-may-walk-away-from-usc/
This isn't some long tenured employee who has served dutifully, faithfully put in the time and is being blocked from moving up the chain so the school is doing the right thing by him. They JUST hired him. They didn't hire him so they could be a stepping stone a few months later for his next job. This isn't an advancement opportunity. Best interests of USC? They're hurting themselves? Come on guys.
How is that gonna happen? USC won’t let the dude interview to be a head coach let alone an offensive coordinator
I’m kinda glad USC is blocking the interview because I don’t want Kingsbury but it’s horseshit that they are trying to block interviews. I mean let’s be honest with ourselves here. USC who will pluck away coaches from smaller conferences without regard won’t let a coordinator interview for an NFL head coaching job. They will go in front of parents and lie to them about their kids future at the university just to get a verbal or signed commitment but wont let their own employees try to advance their career. Fuck them
And again, this is what he should do. But if USC could have blocked him, they should. Don't sign the contract if you don't intend to stay. Or pay the freight to break it. Don't put this on USC as some big bad employer--they're trying to develop their freshman QB, recruit another and with he Coliseum undergoing a massive rebuild, they want their program to thrive. They don't CARE about the NFL.
Optics are reality these days, whether we like it or not. Not a good look for Swann when targeting future coaches who are considering USC. He just needs to find coaches who really want to be there.
If I were him I would do just that. He’s obviously in demand and they are obviously unprofessional anyway
I don't really have a problem with USC blocking him. They literally just hired him and now he wants to bolt out of there.
While I still much prefer a proven winning HC like McCarthy or a Harbaugh, I could be happy with this, though the big question mark is would KK accept being an OC?
If he has legitimate aspirations of being an NFL HC then getting his foot in the door as an NFL OC will bolster his resume significantly if he does well
