It's absurd. If you don't like him as a potential head coach for the Jets, that's your opinion, but to sit here and claim he has a bad offensive philosophy, thin skin, bad clock management, poor coaching ability, etc., is nuts.

So after years of hearing on this board how no one wants to coach the Jets, we have a SB winning HC who is probably the most established HC available in years only wanting to coach the Jets and we’re not gonna hire him??

I’m not the biggest McCarthy fan out there but I’m starting to get the feeling he has to be the hire.

    Didn't you know?

Kingsbury gets credited for Baker Mayfield and Pat Mahomes.

Favre and Rodgers get credited for McCarthy.

That's the narrative we are being fed.

Oh, and as it turns out. Pretty obvious one here. McCarthy's favorite color...is green.

Well players in the huddle have publicly said that Rodgers ignored McCarthy and called his own plays in the huddle so there’s definitely some truth to the “narrative”

Pick and choose where it matches your argument, that's the game we play lol

Suddenly a college coach with ZERO NFL experience is more appealing than a super bowl winning coach with 13 years experience and 6 division titles.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this fan base never ceases to amaze me.

Did he ignore them for the 313 TDs and 38,000 yards the years prior?

Cool. When Darnold gets to that level, he can ignore plays too. You think Manning or Brady ran all the plays that got spoon fed into their headsets? No.

Here within lies the problem with McCarthy. The NFL from even just three years ago isn’t the same as today’s NFL. He was fired because he couldn’t see that or he chose not to see it. Should we blow his and hire him, we have to hope he gets over himself and adapts to an obviously changing league.

How many times did teammates come out and say “when Tom/Peyton called plays they actually worked”?

Nah man. Brady follows every single play Bellicheck calls. He never changes them . Ever.

exactly. That is what coaching is all about anyway, developing players so they can grab the reigns

No matter who is hired, I think we can all agree we'll hate him by this time next year

    Solid strawman here.

That’s a new justification. Never seen it before so props for originality.

That could be true, but if he's a professional HC, it shouldn't matter what market he coach's in, but one way to avoid scrotany is to win, let's just hope if he is our next HC, it isn't a Kotite 2.0 situation.

Outstanding point. Kingsbury coached Mayfield for 1 season and ran him out of town but somehow he gets credit for Mayfield's success in the NFL years later. McCarthy worked with Aaron Rodgers for 13 years and won a superbowl but he didn't do anything for Rodgers, ever. SMH, its absurdity

Getting 6 wins out of the present roster Bowles had? With the 2019 schedule? Hell Yeah! Bowles had a much better roster when he started. Nice try hater...

What? I don’t even know what you’re saying but McCarthy will never have the same roster Bowles had because we are about to go on a $100 mil spending spree... just like we did in Bowles first year where he won 10 games.
