This is why I was hoping for a December Giants-Jets game. It was fun when the Jets beat the Giants in the season finale in 1988 and knocked the Giants out of a playoff spot and into 2nd place. Of course, the Jets didn't qualify for the playoffs either. We don't want an exact repeat of that '88 scenario.
We play the Patriots away after two road games with the last one being SNF? Don't like it. That said if we have a good record when we reach the BYE we'll be in a good position to have an excellent record.
Early reports call for rain in Cincinnati immediately following the Broncos game and I mean immediately following the game.
Wow, is it me or is that scheldule just all over the fukin place? -1st SNF game is against the COWBOYS? -3 road games in a row (of course Starting @ Oak & ending @ Pats) -Sunday Night game w/a Thursday night right after. -1 AFC East game in the last 5 weeks -5 Night games in total That's a lotta shit right there
^ The good teams have to endure schedules like those. Its sucks, but its what goes on. I think this team can handle it. We have Rex. That's the equalizer.
NFL screwed us on this, we play Sunday night vs. Pats..then have to play 4 days later 3/4 the way across the country at Denver......
Of course that could change with the flex schedule. See, to me that's too much stress for Jets-Giants, the fact that both teams may well need the game to make the playoffs or seeding. Then again, I don't feel that way about Jets-Dolphins - probably cause I don't have to deal with Fish fans. And these days the Jets are the only one of my teams that can beat its biggest rivals.
I actually like the Primetime games, cuz that usually means your a good team. Teams like the Lions have been playing at 1 oclock for like the last 7 years. I remember just 2 years ago we were only given 1 primetime game or so.
I posted this in the other schedule thread... but Jeez that week 11 game at Denver is a near impossible situation. Sunday night game week 10 vs bitter rival New England, then a short week and travel to the thin air of Denver. That is brutal. Hopefully Denver really sucks this year and a bad Jets performance can even get it done.
The chances we win a thursday night game in Denver's altitude following a game on sunday night are slim.
Not really the same.. the schedule makers really screwed the Jets on this one. At the very least the Sunday game should have been at 1pm not the night game. Or if they're gonna do primetime on Sunday, the Thursday game has to be home. Making them travel cross country into Denver of all places is ridiculous. The turnaround time between games is gonna be like 90 hours or so. Plus the Pats game is a huge game and will likely take a lot out of the team. The need to put the Jets on prime time as much as possible to showcase them is cool for fans, but it can be a detriment to the team in cases like this.
