He won't be here. They will wait until the last minute, cut him loose and promote Callahan, who is an even worse fit.
What I don't understand..if the fans and media clearly see this is them trying to "not hurt his chances" of coaching....other franchises surely can't be retarded to hire him.
Yeah hate on a defense that's been top 5 three straight seasons (doubt that's ever happened in franchise history). For the 1,000,000,000th time: the offense is what fucked this team this year.
Good luck to you, I hope you can break the tie - to be a Jets fan you need to be a real Masochist. I used to joke about how being a Jet fan was good because it builds character and teaches you about lifes continual disappointments. This year was the first one my 8 year old son really got into watching the games with me. Seeing the tears in his eyes and his frustration with our offense and Sanchez yesterday made me question if I should be locked up for child abuse for getting him investing his heart with this team. I moved to NC in 2002 but kept my season seats until the PSL's and have been supporting this team since 1971, but I am seriously questioning whether I can endure much more of this shit.
The stats looked good but when can you remember this team stopping anybody this year late and when the game was on the line?
Everyone always brings up "this drive or that drive". It's a fucking team sport, the defense should be able to have one bad drive a game and not be crucified for it. The defense ain't a problem, it hasn't been since 09. Maybe one day the offense can move the fucking ball consistently and bail out the D when they [God forbid] have a bad fucking day, which they didn't yesterday -they had one bad drive. Blow it up, Tannenbaum, this defense sucks. /retarded
San Diego, Washington, Buffalo (although Stevie helped us out on that one) to name a few. I have no problems with the D this year. Would I like it if we improved the talent and got younger? Absolutely. But they were hardly the culprit. Rex fielded a top 5 defense this year despite, in my opinion, minimal talent outside of Revis/Cro/Harris.
I'll still be a fan regardless. But don't you don't have anything to worry about schotty will be gone.
San Diego and Buffalo I thought we only won because Sanchez engineerd 4th quarter drives while we were behind? How you mark that as a win by the defense escapes me. I guess you think we won the Dallas game because of the defense too, right? We could have easily been 5-11 this year.
You simply said 'when has the defense stopped anyone late with the game on the line' and I gave you 3 perfectly valid responses. In those 3 games we were ahead with the defense on the field needing to make a stop and they did. I really don't see how this is an argument unless you want to grasp for straws over Buffalo where Stevie dropped the game winning pass. And thanks for listing Dallas. Also should be a part of that. So the answer is 4. If you still disagree with me, then I'm curious as how you define 'stopping a team with the game on the line,' what that exactly entails.
No point in firing Shotty today. There is nothing to gain, no one to interview. No reason to call out players, especially if they could be moved back on the depth chart. Let the chips fall, see who is available and then make your moves. I am not saying at all that shotty should stay, but firing him without direction is stupid. Especially if he gets a new job before and you do not have to pay him.
Can you imagine the shitshow if Shotty, Sanchez and Holmes are all still part of the Jets next year? I'd give it until the 1st preseason game until complete implosion.
