I agree I dont love Mccarthy but I do believe he would turn the Jets into a competitive team. Build a good roster. Make the playoffs. At this point I will take that over another gamble on an unkown.
It should be, but will it? Two very different questions I am afraid with two different answers. But after two more blowout losses to close with 5 blowouts in a row maybe Woody will wake up? I doubt it, but one can hope.
This has been my hope for a while, we will be double digit underdogs the next 2 weeks so those losses should be ugly. I still don't think he gets canned but my god how can anyone have an iota of confidence going into next year with this staff. Not a victory lap I enjoy taking, I really did want him to succeed when he was hired but it only took a few weeks to see he isn't it.
What’s sad is that I only want a team that can perform the basics consistently. Is that too much to ask?
Yes, after the season was effectively over 3 weeks and 1 day after it started going 0-4, it was clear the odds are almost non existent for Glenn to succeed. At this point and if this continues for two more weeks it SHOULD be clear even to an absolute imbecile, which Woody definitely is. But he might be too far gone to make even the most obvious of choices at this point. Let me ask everyone here a question. If you are Kraft, Buffalo owner, Miami, etc, would you rather Woody keep Glenn in 2026 or fire him and hire likes of Joe Brady, Kubiak, even McCarthy? Basically try something different.
The Saints are a bad team. And they beat the Jets by 3+ touchdowns. He should be let go before the plane hits the ground at LaGuardia.
None of those owners has the rep Woody Johnson does. Although they all would have canned Glenn, Woody is trying to turn over a new leaf by not being reactive like the old Woody. We should all hope that if Glenn does get canned, he keeps Mougey and lets him run the show with a mandate to bring in a prior successful HC . Woody will lose the fanbase if something doesn't change PDQ. I remember that MNF game decades ago in the Meadowlands where it was pouring rain and the camera panned the upper deck and there were just 2 fans with bags over their heads sitting in the rain.
Perhaps rather threatening to ban & banning people early on in the season who were critical of the Glenn hire or attempting to censor discussion of Glenn being an awful head coach pick and making an exclusive topic for criticizing him, you should have listened and been more open to opposing views and allowed discussion. Hopefully a lesson was taught there for you because now I see you breaking your own rules and being critical of glenn outside of this topic.
You don't want to start any shit SOXXX2 you can't finish. Perhaps you need to let bygones be bygones. Choose wisely. You weren't missed..
You are breaking your own rules. You tried censoring opinions. You are just immature, once again threatening instead of taking responsibility. The only one starting shit was you when you couldn't handle other opinions and tried to control the discussion toward only pro-glenn opinions being allowed. If you want to follow your rules you should be banning yourself and everyone else being critical of Glenn all over this forum now. Also if you want to apologize for earlier this season feel free to.
Well, it's three months later and I still hate the Aaron Glenn hire. I still hate that Rodgers got cut. I still hate almost everything the Jets did this year (especially cutting Devonte Adams, and signing Fields), but I did like that we traded overrated Sauce. I also hate that Darnold and Rodgers are playoff QBs and we have four QBs on our roster who couldn't make the Giants' terrible roster. I hate that we missed out on Trevor Lawrence because we won a meaningless game against the Rams. I hate that we are going to miss out on Mendoza because we won three meaningless games against bad teams. I hate that we missed out on Penei Sewell because our "offensive line guru" thought Zach Wilson was a better option than Darnold.
We all hate what happened this year to the Jets. 0-7 didn't set well with anybody. Difference is, folks really wanted Glenn to fail instead of hoping for the best. Now that Glenn has shown he wasn't ready to be HC, they're all thrilled at the team's demise. These same people will never be happy as long as Glenn is HC of the NYJ's no matter the record. They're angry in '26. They will still be angry from '27->'29.
It’s pretty wild that in last weeks press conference Glenn kept referencing that he wasn’t hands on with the defense because he was a “first time head coach.” I appreciate the candid honesty but holy fuck dude. Imagine telling your manager you’re WAY overmatched and you need a year to ease into it? That was pretty much my final straw.
