Shill or not, what Nye said in the debate was correct and he essentially encouraged the audience to learn about science and to find these things out for themselves. He could have made Ham look like a complete imbecile, but he didn't. He actually held back quite a bit that could have buried him. I would have rather seen the decimation, but I liked his approach. Promoting science to a population of teens and kids who desperately need it, without insulting their world view was pretty classy. All in all, it was positive, and those fundies need education badly.
