Rex giving that speech doesn't mean the Jets have no leaders. He was calling out his existing leaders like Leonhard and Bart Scott for not getting into their defensive players for slacking the Hofstra practice and bringing food onto the field, without having to name names. How did I know that part of the speech would be taken literally by someone?

It's nice to see that you will try to take something like that and manipulate it into meaning the Jets admitted they have no leadership due to letting go 2 declining players.

Jenkins seems to be quite verbal as well.

Hard Knocks is really showing Sanchez as a QB with alot of potential but also a good deal of growth needed. I have high hopes for the future.

In fairness to junc I saw a couple of people on Twitter saying the exact same thing. Specifically the part about releasing all the leaders then wondering why they don't have any.

People really take this show too seriously, rather than a inside view with a heavy side of drama.

Personally, I completely agree with you that the speech was a callout to guys like Leonhard who should have been vocal about how stupid the cheeseburger stunt was. It wasn't Rex saying there "are" no leaders, it was him saying they weren't acting like them.

Unless Fanexa has regressed a ton since January I can't see how he and Slauson are even close to each other so far. Slauson might be improving every day and when the bright lights are on next week maybe he does a good job- I don't know? It was dangerous though to let Faneca go before we knew what we had.

It wasn't about the speech, it was about the offensive coaches discussing the lack of leadership on OFFENSE. We are fine on defense despite the hamburglar controversy. Try paying attention before you come after me.

I downloaded the Hard Knocks theme before working out today. I recommend listening to it during a work out. Pumps you up.

So.. Are we talking about LEADERSHIP or talent?????

I think Leadership on the OL could possibly be the least possible thing the Jets should worry about right below the color of the new bathrooms.

Faneca was one of the most respected guys in that LR. He was never great for us but we managed to have one of the best OLs in the league the last 2 years w/ him and he was a big part of that w/ his leadership.

I see now. It was the 30 second clip of the Jets trying to get Sanchez to take a leadership role that you're clinging to in order to flail about losing Thomas Jones and Alan Faneca (oh yeah, and the kicker, too, lol). My bad, junc.

Apparently that is why they are keeping Richardson. Because so far this offseason John Connor has badly outplayed him. They are also forcing Mangold to take more of a leadership role on the OL by letting Faneca walk. Right now I'd take Matt Slauson and his learning mistakes over Faneca and his aging and rapid decline.

Haha the actual theme song is like 3:45, but if you only listened to that song, yes you would have to repeat it a few times.

I used to have the Rocky montage theme music from Rocky IV on my MP3 player. I would pretend I was kicking the Russian's ass on the elliptical machine.

Coming from just a pure garbage poster like yourself I take that as a compliment.

I was going to post what Mr. E so graciously posted but TBJ isn't worth my time or anyone's for that matter.

Did you watch the show? Didn't you see the coaches talking amongst themsleves about the lack of leadership on offense?

If you just want to be a homer and act like we didn't lose anything that's ok but we lost alot of respected veterans. The hope was younger guys would step up but apparently it's not happening as quickly as we had hoped.

If all things were equal w/ regards to money there's not a GM in the league past or presetn who would take Slauson over Faneca for this season.

I apologize you cannot deal w/ valid points. Let's ignore it, everything is rosy. sanchez will be throw for 35 TDs and 8 INTs, LT and Greene will rush for over 1,000 yds each, Edwards and holmes will have 150 recs combined, the Ol will be the best in the league. Everything is ok, we have nothing to worry about.

As hard as it is to believe we aren't guaranteed a Super Bowl. One of the problems the coahces seemed to be concerned w/ is lack of leadership on O. It's a valid point quedtioning why they got rid of a ton of leaders and are now complaining about lack of leadership. I hope it turns out great, I hope I'm wrong, I think we will be really good but it's still a concern.

Now maybe I'm mis-remembering, but didn't Rex specifically tell Tannenbaum that they couldn't release TRich specifically because he's a big leader in the locker room?
