Cool, so you you booked a private inshore charter? was gonna say, that's your best (most fun) option.... 20" inshore flounder is a nice one... and they're gonna be closed next month... Did you find the reds and snook on skinny water flats/creeks? fun stuff on light tackle. Yeah Id say May is our best month for fishing here... especially for pelagics
Found the Reds and snook in the bay (river) just off Port Canerval. The charter was good. The Capt, nice young man, found fish for us. It was the channel NASA uses to retrieve the spent rocket boosters. Saw a retrieval barge coming in from the launch the night before. It was huge!! Inshore fishing was our only option due to the wind. it was a blast on light tackle! Reds put up quite a fight. Had our drags screaming several times. Made the most out of this trip and got a prime spot next spring! Got no problem fishing Port Canerval again in the future.
