Have a great trip! Sounds like fun. Assume you are after Tiles.

Just returned from the Hudson. Got blanked.

That blow that went through fucked up the water temps. Was 78 degrees out there inshore in the 50’s.

Hit patches of fog in and out. Radar crapped out 56 miles out so we started our troll early. Had one run off on a white pearl wide tracker but nothing else.

Stopped on West Wall flats and dropped for tiles no love there either.

Long boat ride. Swelly run. One crew puked the whole trip.

Yeah, that cold front really screwed everything up. Actually went fluking last Tuesday and wound up with just 1 keep. Cut his ass up into 4 fillets so it came out to $25/ea. Lotsa fog which burned off right when we got back to Belmar. Still better than yardwork!

Tuna action Little Italy Blufin on Jigs Yellowfin in the AP. Buddy got a nice 88 lb Yellowfin.

Just got back from my 3 day Tilefish Run. We were off Baltimore and Wilmington Canyons. Goldies, Bluelines and Black Belly Rosefish were all hungry. Limited out on the Tiles. Scored a personal best 31lb Goldie. Good thing I was using a bent butt DD rod! Say what you will about E-Reels, but this doesn't happen by hand. 40lb test backing, 80lb test topshot and leader. 7/0 circle hooks.

Headed out to fish the Southern Wrecks in a few weeks. Used mostly 3-5lb lead. Had a blast on the Voyager out of Pt. Pleasant Bch, NJ. The steak dinner was the cherry on top!

    Tight Lines!!

My next door neighbor got back from Block Island on Sunday night. I'm always in charge of his murdering chipmunk and vole killing cat whenever he goes fishing or hunting.

Can't wait to see what I'm getting gifted with.

P.S.: My neighbor got some radar sonar tracking or trolling shit on his boat so he doesn't have to anchor? What do I know from these things. He's always building tackle boxes, etc. He's incredibly handy.

It ain't no tricked out yacht or anything like it. It's open. It's still impressive in a low key way. Especially the maintenance. o_Oo_Oo_O

    Yes Sir!

Bluefin bite (football sized) is on Little Italy and the lumps South of it. Jig with Ron Zs drop to the bottom 2 cranks and set the rod in the gunnel.
    Yellowfin on top taking Poppers.

Actually heard the Bluefin were at the Mantaloking pipe on the weekend.

My buddy bagged a 88 lb yellowfin Saturday on the chunk little North of the AP.

Head toward Little Italy, turn on the Radar, and look for the fleet.

I'm going out Friday to Saturday overnight. Might try inshore. We will be chunking.

Whats the name of the boat and where is he out of? I will try to raise you on the radio.

Ha... we got none of that stuff... Lo-tech redneck style :D... and definitely cant make it to some of those spots. Forecast is as flat as it gets so maaaaaaybe Cholera banks?
We're the guys in the little 17' Sailfish (basically like a Whaler Montauk copy) making boats say WTF.... We had shot at a 100+lber last year out by the tankers... been thinking about it ever since

"Unplugged" out of Rockaway (or Jones) depending on our target destination... he lives right between both in Island Park/Long Beach

My cousin has a bigger boat in Bayshore, but we havent been in touch yet.

I did hear a kid got a 100lber from his jon boat just outside Raritan yesterday :D:cool:

Yes, and another Bluefin was subject of a video in the surf at Long Beach Island.

These fish are gorging themselves on Sand Eels so match the hatch! Jig em up!

    yewwwwwww!

thanks for the intel... he's got a few i gave him in the past but i may bring some more. Didnt want to check a bag, but I doubt TSA lets some of my gear on... (Daisy chains, big poppers, dredge, etc.... may toss another jig or two in just in case)
speaking of, last minute standby flight and with all the chaos lately, odds arent good I get on, but "never tell me the odds"... Small boat... BIG dreams....LETS GO!
