3-2-1. Blow it up from top to bottom,,,,,,we need a complete overhaul,,,,,,,,,not sure who to bring in , hell I thought Rex was a great hire 4 yrs ago turns out that he was and is a great coordinator and only looks at one side of the team ,,,defense . they all should go,,,,Tanny,,,,the talent scouts,,,,Rex,,,,,Sporano,,,,,,the qb f that is possible with his contract,,,,,,the linebackers,,,,, The whole lot !
We don't want Norv Turner! His team sucked with all that talent. He is a terrible game manager. If we had a coach that knew about the offensive side of the ball, maybe. But not with Rex. They both would be lost.
"Those former Jets include Kris Jenkins, who played with Sanchez for two years. On SNY’s Jets postgame show, Jenkins ripped into Sanchez for saying his own confidence would not allow him to lose his job. “You had a 40% completion percentage today and you’re too confident to lose your job in the NFL?" Jenkins asked sarcastically. “This is a point where I wished some defensive end would have knocked him out of a game so they wouldn't have had a choice but to put somebody else in.” Jenkins wasn’t done. He said the Jets are a “coattail organization” that has always “coddled” Sanchez. “So when you have a team like this when everybody is geared around ‘I’m bigger than the team” type of thing, but they can’t man-up and be honest, where does the leadership come from?” Jenkins asked. “That's the problem.” Sanchez has heard former Jets rip him before. Some even as intense and angry as Jenkins, who made it personal. Will all this finally force Sanchez to fire back?" This just about sums it up
As bad as it is right now and as much as many here do not want to admit it, much of of our problems begin and end with Mr Sanchez. No doubt we need better talent in some skilled areas, but Mark alone, by mere force of will could have won us two more game this season alone. I honestly believe with a better player under center there would be no discussion of firing Rex. Now having said that and having had a HC like Parcell's run this club you see the clear difference of a guy who will kick you in the ass if your not getting the job done. Rex is too damn close to his players and too damn loyal to guys who are not being solutions to his problems. If Rex is here next year, which I am not totally against , then Mark needs to be gone or on the bench. Believe me, if these two are together next year, the results we are seeing now will be the same or worst. So that in the end, another year will be wasted with both of them out the door at the end of next season. I still think Rex has to potential to be a good HC over the long term. He certainly needs to change a few more things in his methods of running a team to make it. An be needs a strong OC who can take care of that side of the ball and get results and is allow do shake it up if needed, ie bench a player who is struggling and hurting his team. So yes Rex for one more to make it or hang himself and maybe kill his chances to every get another HC job again.
agreed, rex's biggest problem has been the continued support of his qb. Thats his issue. If he goes down with Sanchez its his own fault- he is risking his career for this kid and its sad
Rex needs to change something. The offense is putrid again. I'm sorry, Sanchez gives us the best chance to win.
Puttting McElroy in shouldnt change anything as far as Rex's job security goes. Its been way overdue.
Until this year most of the Jets fanbase especially here, were Sanchez supporters. So for anyone to say to fire Rex for sticking with the 5th overall pick stud is pretty hypocritical. McElroy 2012
Rex just got a small save on his chances for the season: he made the QB change and the Jets did not lose.
Rex isn't going to be fired. Woody knows that good organizations don't fire the HC every 4 yrs especially when that HC has taken the team to the AFCCG 2 straight yrs.
If Woody knows this why has he fired the last two head coaches after 3 and 5 years? I don't think Woody knows anything of the sort. I think Rex is coaching for his job right now. If you look at the sequence of numbers going 5 and then 3, 4 seems like a completely rational next choice.
Because the defense has gotten statistically worse every year he's been here? You can blame a lot on Tannenbum and the players, but by that same logic you can claim he inherited a great defense.
Time for Rex to go so we are on target to get Cowher or Gruden tossed out of here by the end of 2016. smh
While that may in fact be true, I don't see how anyone with half a football brain comes in here and thinks it's the fault of strictly the personnel.
That's his biggest problem is it? So the lack of discipline, the lack of focus, the lack of preparation, the motivating of the other team more than his own, the dumb decisions that highlight that he's over his head as a head coach - that's all minor in comparison to sticking with what he thinks is the best option? Rex sucks. He needs to go. Too bad he would never stay on as DC.
