Hill was never our deep guy. He had 2 plays longer than 30 yards last year and 1 the year before that.. Decker was in the top 5 or 10 on long receptions last year so he will be a major upgrade.
I would have agreed but after seeing the Giants game and the Eagles game I have to say he was long gone. I know the coaching staff wanted him to stay but he was playing so damn badly these last couple weeks.
Maybe I guess, I kind of doubt he'll see a ton of time on offense for the first half of the season. I wouldn't say we can count on him as a deep threat, I think he's faster in a shifty sense than an outright burner sense anyway.
wasn't he a sub 4.4 guy? it's obviously all potential at this point ... Didn't see anything in the ps.
He only had a couple deep catches, like vs the Bills and Pats, but he was the guy they always sent deep because of his size and speed. We don't really have a guy to stretch the field now, even if it is just to spread out the defense.
4.44 I believe. It will be really tough for him to be a real deep threat at his height as well, and 4.44 isn't the kind of speed where you have 5 yards between you and a defender.
I really don't know. I don't have the faintest idea why he skipped out, I mean there has never been a shred of evidence that Patterson has been anything other than professional throughout his entire career so far, but who knows.
I don't think it would be so much for skipping but for publicly calling out RR and Idzik for lying about the incident. He played like shit in his only game, he's banged up all over the place and he seems like a douche. I might keep him just because we're pretty desperate at CB but I wouldn't argue at all if we cut him.
Only an hour left with 12 cuts to go. Maybe they're holding out because they want to see who's available from other teams cuts, but I'm surprised they're bringing it down to the wire.
Can we start claiming cuts from other teams now or do we have to wait until the deadline for cuts is reached?
Perhaps thats why we haven't announced our final cuts - because we are negotiating with players cut from other rosters first?
right now we have to get to 53. after that is the waiver period and we can put claims in. after waivers are awarded we can sign players to the practice squad
