Well, and Josh Bush. I wouldn't get too comfortable in my chair if I were him either.

If Geno or Vick get hurt they probably didn't feel comfortable turning to Simms. They will bring in a Vet in that instance.

Or, maybe they only made this decision after seeing that Terrelle Pryor was cut. Just a guess.

You could be right, but I'm curious why you think this. The Jets don't need the cap space. If the Jets like both players and want them back, what's to be gained by taking the risk of having another team claim them on waivers? Neither McIntyre nor Simms are that old or that expensive, that the cut would be made to save some $s and/or cap space. I particularly don't see it with McIntyre. Either you keep him as your top backup or you don't. With the addition of Babin, McIntyre became expendable. They also have Barnes when he comes off the PUP. McIntyre was a decent backup and good Jet, but not really a loss imo. I'll be surprised if he's brought back.

Talk about your nightmare scenarios.. Terrell Pryor over Matt Simms? A bullet to the head would be a quicker death.

I'd like to see them pick up Jeff Matthews the rookie QB from Cornell who was cut by Atlanta.

Maybe, but the Jets seem to like the read option and Simms can't give it to 'em.

    we're going with 2 QB's after all?

Enunwa making the team was a huge surprise, i think most of us had him pegged for the PS from the get-go given his draft status.

Reilly over Mcintyre, I can get behind that.

Disagree, Pryor's a flawed as hell starter but a great backup option. I'd be very happy to have him aboard. Sure his pocket presence isn't great but he can make his fair sure of plays on the move, if all goes tits up and he had to play I'd feel about as good if not better as if Simms started.

Reilly was getting man-handled in that Eagles game.

You're right Morey.. They like the 'Cat and Simms is a more traditional Qb. Perhaps they can talk Tebow into coming back. This fascination with the read option and wildcat will bite them in the ass sooner than later. Rex really needs to just stay far away from the offense and simply sign off on MM's moves. There's a reason why teams have abandoned the read option but the Jets? We're gonna make history with it. 1 step forward, 3 steps back.

I'm really glad that Trevor Reilly made it, proves that you can take a player in the 7th round and he can make the roster

we have 2 starting 7th rounders as well, in T-Bo and Allen. Allen in particular seems to have become a good asset to have around, hopefully Reilly can do the same.

I'm all for keeping guys like Enunwa, George, and Reilly. If Idzik's goal is to find diamonds in the rough then you have to stick with your rookies you selected in the late rounds for atleast 1 season and see how they develop. McIntire was a good special teamer but I am sure George can get the job done as well. Enunwa has good hands. Reilly brings great character to the team and has a high football IQ.

Absolutely the right choice to only carry 2 QB's as well. If both Geno and Vick go down then the season is screwed anyways. It's too bad Seattle did the smart thing and kept BJ Daniels instead of Pryor because he would have been the perfect #3 QB in this offense if we were going to keep one.

I also have a feeling that Champ Bailey will be in a Jets uniform in the next couple of days now that he has been cut from the Saints. His skills have diminished but I still think he can step in as out #2 or #3 corner immediately.

He would be, in a way, taking a spot because Brandon Dixon couldn't cut it. Bailey didn't make the Saints roster because of Dixon's twin.

If he's not good enough for Rob why would Rex bother?

At this point in Bailey's career, he no longer has that extra gear you need to keep up with the top wideouts. I think he still offers some value if we played him at safety, as he still has phenomenal balls skills and has spent the offseason in Rob Ryan's defense, similar to our own. Rotate Pryor down to SS and put Bailey up at FS and see what happens? Even if the guy gets injured, he will still be a great presence to have in a young secondary ala Ed Reed.

Reilly was playing DE and he's undersized for an NFL DE. He's an OLB.
