Watson and Winston still on the board. I know we're not taking Winston, but he was rumored to go early in the 2nd.
I would think NT and a versatile sack specialist are at the top of the list now. I'm sure they'll be addressed sometime through the draft.
Wow, I have now read though all of the posts since my last one. You know, the one where I was getting torn up for saying we were screwing up this draft, right after Lawson went off the board. Is Mangold a bad pick? No. He is a future starting center here. Is Brick a bad pick? No, he is a future starting LT. When you look at the situation overall you have to start to wonder though. 1) You spent picks on the OLine, but you traded down from a great 2nd round pick, and you got practically NOTHING in return. A second rounder next year from the Skins is a playoff team's pick. WORTHLESS. 2) You traded away Abe, and instead of getting Mario or Manny, you replaced him in total with Von Oelhoffen. 3) You have 3 QBs on the roster, including 2 former first rounders, one of which you TRADED for this year. So you turn around and pick ANOTHER QB? On top of that, you pick one you only just saw a week and a half ago??? We could have went after Cutler. We could have taken Croyle. Hell, if you were that concerned about QB, you had the choice of Leinart as well. This staff went ULTRA-conservative. Not the right move. What happens if these guys crash and burn now? Tangini would be dead in the water. We don't have playmakers as some have tried to argue. I have been on Penny's side all along, but the truth is, we don't know how how he will return. Ramsey is a HUGE question mark. Martin is at the end of his career, and can barely walk most of the time, much less run for 100 a week. Blaylock is a sleeper in my book, but I don't see him lighting up the Pats D. Houston is another big question mark. Coles is a very good WR, but as good as he is, and as much as I like him, he is not ELITE. JMac is a joke. Cotch is another one of those great ? on our roster. Baker is a good receiving TE, but he isn't elite either. We have no offensive playmakers, and our defense is worse now than it was last year. I had been predicting 4 wins next year for this club. I would like to adjust that to be two. Both coming against the 0-16 Buffalo Bills. Every other game we will be getting our asses kicked. Am I darksiding? You can maybe call it that. Right now, I am just calling it how I see it. Of course I really hope that this regime knows so much more than me that I have to eat my words in 8 months, but I really don't see it happening. This was a piss-poor draft, and I am just disgusted right now. Well at least the Nets and Yanks won.
It's hard to argue with the Clemens pick. Honestly, none of us here has even a tenth of the knowledge on these players as the FO does. They obviously thought that Clemens was worth moving up for, so I trust them. Jaws was raving about him, and Hodge also mentioned how he thought Clemens was better than Leinart and Young. You can call em crazy if you want to, but they are professionals, they know what to look for, and they have researched these players much more than you have. ...also, the Devils swept the rangers today, too. Rock on.
I hated that Skins trade. I do like D'Brick. We haven't failed. Not every good team needs offensive playmakers. We have a great LT now and a great Center. The defense may have to carry us right now. We haven't had the best draft of all the teams so far, but we are distant from the bottom of the jar.
