I'm gonna cry like a little uninformed bitch if we don't take a first round quality Defensive lineman who accidentally fell to the seventh round. Because I haven't done nearly the research on these guys that the professionals who work the Jets did, but I am infinitely sure that I know much more than any of them. In fact I just learned that when I applied for the job, there was an office fire and my resume was lost, whixh is why I was never hired to be the director of player personnel.

Ok, then what DT or DE did you want at this point? Would they be any better than Pope, or Ball? What about McChesney, since you seem to have such great knowledge and have spent hours upon hours and probably days scouting them? I mean, surely Coach Mangini told you what he is looking for, and how he feels about the performance, potential, and work effort of those available and those on the roster.

What did we trade down so many times for then? Mangini said he fully expected to get starter talent today before today's rounds began. The RB and converted WR pick seem to be decent picks, but we still have yet to go to the need positions.

I keep seeing other teams picking DT and DE. Those are BIG holes in our defense right now. DRob is going to have a tough time as a 3-4 NT. Von Oelhoffen is going to be tough to see taking over for Abe.

I guess they are content with not even trying this year.

Hes simply stating that we have other needs (glaring) other than CB etc..

I guess its a choice to be upbeat or not about our picks , either way people outside of our control are dealing with it and we will have to wait and see........won't we.

And then he, or somebody else after the draft, is bitching about how we didn't draft a CB. Let the guys who have the scouting reports on our entire roster and these prospects make the decisions.

Okay, of the past few posts, hydro's as gustoon's were the only intelligent ones.

No, I don't know squat about these guys at this point. None of the guys coming off the board at this point have enough source material. The guy we picked doesn't even have a background on NFL.com.

Is it still wrong for me to want to address positions where we have OBVIOUS NEEDS? I'm not asking for you to agree with me, but asking you to at least act like a mature adult and join the conversation in a productive manner isn't asking a lot.

At this point we're drafting athletes not needs. It doen't matter the position at this point we're looking at projects and special teams.

We have drafted a TE, CB, and S. All positions were we have at least 4 guys already on the roster.

Giving the CS credit for the QB pick, since they know Penny's status MUCH better than I, that's still a lot of picks to dump into positions that aren't NEEDS.

Human nature , its never enough.
Me for one I'm quite happy with the draft , although I would have liked to drafted a DE and/or WR ( not a slash)

That post didn't appear until after mine did. Your post was conversational, and I don't mean mine to be against that.

The TE is expected to be converted to a FB, a position where we are lacking a blocker.

For CB, we have Darrien Johnson as our #5. Tangini could have seen something in Coleman that they like.

For E. Smith, that one was a bit intriguing. Maybe they think he can replace Coleman if he doesn't improve, or fill in for injury, or something. Washington is probably gone, as he was a 7th round pick by Bradway, and Bradway hated getting rid of his picks.

You're right. This about never being enough.

Again, I have gushed about it a few times the past two days. I wouldn't have been so angry at this point had that second round debacle not happened.

We had a fair draft. However, trading the 35 to Washington, and dropping in this year's second round, and getting low value in next year's second round as well, we shot ourselves in the foot.

We should have addressed end at some point. We lost John Abraham for chrissakes. How are we going to fill that gap? Kimo? Bryan Thomas? We just lost 10 sacks a year, and did nothing to fix it. IMO it's a bad way to get the motor started by this regime.

Could I be totally wrong? Of course. Do these guys have a plan I don't understand? Of course. Do I have to agree with it? Nope, not one bit.

How was the second round a debacle?
