William Henderson on Brett Favre: "I don't think he had his best season last year" ... way to state the obvious.
6.20, 189. We got it from Washington, through us, through Dallas. So basically it was our pick, then it wasn't, now it is again.
Charles gordon CB needs to be taken next Summary Gordon is a player who came out early for the 2006 NFL Draft, but would have been better suited to stay at Kansas for his senior season because he has yet to prove he can consistently produce at the level he is capable of. He has the height, long arms and natural athleticism to cover receivers all over the field when he uses good technique, stays over his feet and under control. When he reads the pass right, he can plant, drive and close on the ball fast and can break up passes well -- either by using front arm or by making a hard hit right as the ball arrives. He has very quick feet and can be very quick in backpedal when he uses good pedal technique. He is a tough cornerback who has consistently shown the willingness to come up quickly in run support and will make hard, physical tackles out in space. Overall, GM Jr. would make sure not to over-draft Charles based on his raw athleticism and postseason workouts because his inconsistent technique/footwork and instincts cause him to allow too many catches. He might not become the good cornerback he is capable of being, but in a season or two, he will become an adequate starting cornerback whose production is less consistent than ideal. He will also be a good returner who can make plays as a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver if needed.
Penny on the field in May doing light work. All QBs are in competition for the starting role. Smith will play a lot of spots. They have tried him out with catching the ball and like what they see. They like Leon's running style. Good players with good character, tough players who love football. (Once and for all the answer to a "Mangini guy" straight from the horse's mouth.) Building for the long-term. (The way he said it, he doesn't expect anything big for a while, and this year will be a wash. **My interpretation, not what he actually said.)
I'm having a theory that these safeties are going to be converted to outside LBs. They're tall and if we bulk them up, they'll have that outside speed. I feel better today than I did last night
Missed that, but did he say anything about the lb and safety they took in the 3rd? To me it seemed like a reach for the backer and the safety will contribute on ST more than on D. I think that the 3rd rd could've been way better.
Hydro could be right. Mangini looked almost taken off-guard by the question. He didn't know what to say. If he believes Chad could be his QB, he isn't sure Chad will be healthy enough to do the job.
You have the benefit of tv and radio coverage so I'll take your word for it, but until someone from the FO tells us that Chad is done , he will be starting for me.
