I seem to remember dee starting to play well after looking terrible before getting injured. that feels like eons ago though. it sure would be a nice surprise if he could stay healthy and actually be good
Milliner played ok at the end of 2013 after Rex got a real FS in Ed Reed and started playing more zone coverage. He was playing fairly well off of his man and with his eyes on the QB. He'd probably do pretty well in a Cover 2 if he could stay healthy. The Jets have two players right now that look a lot better in a zone than man to man. Those being Milliner and Marcus Williams. It might be worth looking at more zone coverage next year, with pressure applied by the front 5 in a dime on passing downs.
And that proves what? Should the front office negotiate contracts and the coaching staff select starters based on fan opinions? If Smith starts, any true Jets fan will hope he has a break out season. All this behavior by the fans does is make it harder to sign Fitz, who has no other option but to take the Jets offer if he wants to start/play football in 2016.
Fans are not potted plants, and especially in NY, know how to express their opinion This stalemate has been in the News for months and the behavior of fans who are not FO homers has no impact on the offer on the table for Fitz. I am a true Jets fan and I like Mac, just don't always agree with what he does So you are saying if we all united around Geno we could easily sign Fitz? If Geno was any good maybe I would consider that and wish him a break out season...but by doing that it would also be contradicting what you stated in line one and two on the dangers of listening to fans opinions when selecting starters hmmm..
Defensive scheme failure. No way do you put a basically rookie cb with no help over the top against one of the best wr and qb tandems in the league and do not expect to get burned.
Calvin Pryor was over the top but he got fucked also because he took a shitty angle. Dee Milliner 40 yard dash time - 4.37 Jordy Nelson 40 yard dash time - 4.51 https://vine.co/v/OaIl3IxHFp5
I really want Dee to step up along with Marcus Williams and McDougle. We really need depth in our secondary to give our CS more scheme flexibility. We also need to start thinking about a possible replacements for Revis.
Of those three, Marcus Williams is so much more polished and further along. I honestly have zero faith in Milliner and McDougle, and am at my happiest when neither are on the field.
