They are weird together. They don't get a long. They are not a great team. That is what makes the story fun.

Why would you assume they are going to team up? I would say bats takes down supes for the damage in man of steel.

I would enjoy that much moreso than having them on the same team. Was Man of Steel really that bad? My friends who have seen it, all liked it.

I just meant in a film. Obviously they will fight, but also work together in the end, despite their differences.

Pretty much, they will need each other for the greater good of mankind.

I expect Lex as a villain, a side villain from Batman...probably Black Mask or something, and a Brainiac or Metallo villain for supes to fight with.

clearly WB knows that the Man of Steel franchise by itself has no legs, and although it has made a nice amount of money worldwide, the film is a disappointment both financially and critically, and any sequel would likely earn even less.

Man of Steel is going to make less than any of the Iron Man films individually domestically, and is getting its ass kicked by Iron Man 3, which has out-grossed it $1.2 billion to $635 million worldwide. $1 billion has to be the benchmark for what WB was expecting from this film. Iron Man 3 reached it, the Dark Knight films reached it, the Avengers reached it; hell, even Pirates of the Caribbean 4 reached it.

They would have had to spend even more on the sequel, but when you consider critical reception to the Man of Steel, it likely would draw less. the only way to reinvigorate interest is to add Batman, but even then that is a desperate move.

it isn't as if any Batman will draw audiences interest to Dark Knight levels. will audiences care enough about a new Batman they have no connection to to flock to the theatre and see him face off against Superman as a sequel to a disappointing film?

this is further proof that WB has no idea how to develop a DC film universe like Marvel.

Unfortunately, I agree. They got lucky with Christopher Nolan's vision for Batman. Besides that, it has been flop after flop.

it's a damn movie made for the sole purpose of making money. cash grab is just the most asinine criticism of a movie, and is simply a crutch from someone who wants to criticize it but has no real criticism.

the lunch I will buy today is a cash grab by the restaurant. when take the train, my ticket is a cash grab. when I get PPV porn -- cash grab.

Not really a criticism, just an observation.

They're trying to use the marvel template for super hero movies but the way they plan to go about it is a disservice to any real comic fan. Not that they give a fuck, the movie will probably make about as much if not more then man of steel.

of course they are following the Marvel template, they are similar properties and Marvel has shown it could work. that's called smart business.

how is any of that a disservice to comic fans?
