He's been portrayed this way for a while now but you are correct there are many versions. The new 52 has him more in line like this. So let me correct myself, this is how the most current incarnation has been portrayed......till he "died" Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
http://variety.com/2016/film/box-of...-records-with-170-1-million-debut-1201739978/ Congrats to BvS on it's opening weekend, but this is a problem I have run into in the past with the Jets. I don't like that many things. I like the Jets. I like Batman. I like the Capitals. So I will support any shitty Jets or Caps season. I will go see any shitty Batman movie. And that is unfortunate. The answer to my problem: Get new hobbies. Haha but really, anything with Batman in it will make money. Same with all the Marvel movies, Hunger Games, etc. Good for them, but I think it brings down the quality. Because why try hard? People are going to see it no matter what.
There's nothing to counter about the RT ratings. They are simply aggregates of people's opinions. It's fact. 70% of reviewers dislike it. 25% of movie goers dislike it. The question is what does that mean? It's interpretive but the data shows both of those are high for a movie like this. Which leads us to what our discussion is about. You criticize those reviewers opinions by arguing the movie is good but they just don't understand it. That's nonsensical. There isn't an overwhelming opinion that they were confused by the movie; they simply didn't like it. Rather than address their opinions you attempt to discredit them. And when I called you on this rather than address what I said you did the same thing -- attempt to discredit me. I haven't said whether I like it or not but because you have no argument and your entire schtick is to just attack and criticize you simply revert to your tactic -- just commit another logical fallacy, the Strawman, make up that I didn't like the movie or was confused by it, and attack that with ad hominems. You've failed to actually address one thing I've actually stated.
Stay on topic about what my issue with you was. Its not about youre wrong for disliking it. Thats your opinion and you are entitled to it. But then you stated how RT said its bad so then everyone who disagrees is wrong. Look youre right, its an opinion, it doesnt make it valid. You are absolutely entitled to not liel something, im not taking that away, but dont dismiss anyone hwo disagrees and then cite a source thats inconsistent as yourbmain reason. You dont like the acting state that. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Week one was always a given. I read that something like 60% of movie goers primary interest in seeing this was because its a new Batman movie. He's our greatest entertainment character. The question is, as I previously referred to in regards to Snyder not getting fired until second week, is what will the percentage drop be next week. TDK only dropped 53% and Rises 60%. if the percentage drop is more than those it should concern the studio. Batman provided a lot of goodwill with audiences who disliked Man of Steel; will they do the same with Justice League if they dislike this movie too?
I never said you were wrong for liking it. I said you were wrong for claiming anyone who disliked it simply didn't understand it.
No i think you misunderstood what i was saying then. I was only talking about people claiming the plot was complicated. It simply wasnt and there was no need for it to be complicated. Thats what i was talking about. I dont think for a second you thought the plot was complicated. You jumped in the middle of the conversation and missed that. Its a super hero movie, i love them, but they're supposed to be fun films. This film was fun to me. You disagree thats fine, TDK didnt care for it, and i have not been arguing with him. So its not about whether you liked it or not. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
I saw it twice...Even with its issues I still enjoyed the movie overall because I am a fan of the lore and comics. For example, when the 2 copa came into that warehouse of Asian women in a jail cell it was a cop with a flashlight and batman dangling all that was straight out of Dark Knight Returns. The only major beefs right now are some of the disjointed plot lines that had a messy edit and Jesse Eisenberg should have been cast as THE RIDDLES instead of Lex. Maybe they change him now in the future after assessing everything. Tons of epic moments that make me want to see it again and I will see it a 3rd time. The research is in the pudding, WB responded saying critics and audiences are not on the same page because people are seeing it again based off the research trends. It is true, I'm probably gonna see it a 3rd time because I love these characters and I like darker tense films.
My understanding is there was a lot cut from it to trim the time down. They probably should have left some of it in there. Batgirl was supposed to be in it as well. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
One issue for it may have been that there wasn't a movie for Batman prior to establish him, so they were trying to jam that in with everything else. By establish, I mean establish what this version of Batman would be. Compare it to Captain America: Civil War, where the main characters have already had movies about them prior, so character development isn't nearly as important over that timeframe.
The word is leaking out...WB meddled with the film to slim it down, at least another 20 minutes of it. I think they pressured Snyder to cut it down and obviously Snyder is a man who liked to have his version of the product. I thoroughly enjoyed his Director's Cut of Watchmen. Studios like to mess with films running time alot...Biggest mess of all time was with one of my favorite films of all time...Kingdom of Heaven (DIRECTOR'S CUT), not the theatrical trash that was released by Fox. WB is playing damage control, but I bet the team and everyone is telling them. I fucking told you so!
Id read that a month or so ago. I nad read that wb watched it was worried it was too long and wanted it cut. The actual film time not counting credits was close to 3 hours originally. Actual film time after edit was a little over 2. I timed it because i had to be to work after. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Christian Bale is the best combination ever. Followed by Michael Keaton. However, Ben Affleck was better than I expected, so that is good. Val Kilmer is the worst combination ever. Haha.
Haha well, I guess he would be slightly ahead of Kilmer because I thought he was a good Bruce Wayne. Batmans: 1. Christian Bale 2. Michael Keaton 3. Ben Affleck 4. Adam West 5. Val Kilmer 6. George Clooney Bruce Waynes: 1. Christian Bale 2. Adam West 3. Michael Keaton 4. Ben Affleck 5. George Clooney 6. Val Kilmer Honorable Mention to Kevin Conroy who is the best Batman/Wayne Period. Animated though.
Cant go wrong with kevin. Its still odd hes been replaced with jason o'mara. Tho jason isnt bad. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
That's also more PR spin by WB. The hardcore fans always go see these movies multiple times but they are generally a small percentage of ticket buyers. This movie sold maybe 12 million tickets, that's mass appeal right there, not hard core fans. But what WB knows is that the box office was a bit padded because it had great demand and opened in almost every major global market simultaneously, which is not common. So the global take doesn't reflect higher demand particularly it was just realized all at once instead of staggered over weeks and months, so there isn't another film to really compare it to. Week two will really tell if there is a disconnect between casual movie goers and reviewers or not.
Haven't seen BvsS yet, but Rotten Tomatoes is bullshit. They gave that movie Inside Out a 93% approval rating and it was straight up dog shit.
