Regarding Eisenberg and his snarky and cocky attitude...Remember he still has hair here. He will TURN, and he will get more serious I think and conniving. In this movie he is reckless and smart, but more so reckless There will be a moment where we all go. AHA! That is going to change with Lex/Eisenberg. He can't be goofy forever.
Marvel movies generally look cool but the movies end up sucking. I finally endured Age of Ultron last weekend. What a horrid piece of shit. IMO Marvel has only made 4 good movies -- Iron Man, GOTG, The Winter Soldier and The Avengers.
Eisenberg is an interesting actor. People talk as if he is so great, he always looks and talks the same in everything I see him in. Some actors are great and sink into each character, for me, when I watch him, I just see Jesse Eisenberg. We will see how the Lex transformation goes.
You have high standards. Nothing wrong with that. Most Marvel movies have been good to me. I agree those 4 top my list though. I thought Age of Ultron was pretty good. Tough to top yourself with such high expectations after The Avengers in 2012.
All 4 better than the Man of Steel. Cap 3 will blow BvS out of the water. Oh and Antman was pretty good.
nah, lets avoid the fanboy to the rescue posts... Most of those Marvel movies you are talking about came out during the Nolan Batman movies, and to be clear TDK and The Dark Knight Rises have an edge over most films. Man of Steel is inferior to those 3 movies but it started the universe Snyder and WB built now. Marvel also has a head start...can we at least agree that Iron Man 2 and 3 were trash, Thor 1 and 1 were boring and Age of Ultron was letdown city!
IM 1 and 2 should have never been made, I have not watched of Age of Ultron yet, so I will reserve judgement. I enjoyed Man of Steel, a little too much reaching into the past with Kevin Costner, even though I like Costner as an actor. My main issue with Man Of Steel is General Zod, they made him out to be a mass murderer, I understand that they were predisposed to certain characteristics, but i did not think kryptonians were about wiping out other races.
I like DC and Marvel, obviously not equally, but I have respect for DC. TDKR in my opinion wasn't better than Cap 2, GOTG, Avengers and Iron Man 1. Marvel had a head start, and I do agree IM2 / IM 3 / Thor 1 were really bad. Age of Ultron could've been better, but it really wasn't that bad ... Ant-man, I thought was very underrated. Thor 2 wasn't that bad either. Phase 3 of Marvel is going to be amazing though ... Doctor Strange, and Cap 3 alone are going to be very good films. Prob better than Suicide Squad ... Zach Snyder loves to overhype trailers then when the movie comes out, it's not as good as advertised. That's how I felt with the MoS. TDK is the best comic book movie ever made though. No love for Batman Begins? I really enjoyed that film, more than TDKR.
The Dark Knight and Iron Man are clearly the top two and all the rest are fighting it out for 10th place. _
IM 2 and 3 are indeed the worst Marvel films. Irony being I think the first Iron Man is the best. The Thor films are just that -- boring and uninteresting. Ed Norton's Incredible Hulk is actually the first of the Marvel Universe films and isn't interesting either. Captain America had everything in place to be great except a competent director who ruined it. I enjoy it because I like the character but it's disappointing.
TDKR is a bad film. I hated it when I saw it in the theatre, then watched it a couple of times on the train to work to see if I would like it better. I liked it better the third time I saw it, then rewatched the entire trilogy, and as a sequel to those films it's as bad as I originally thought and doesn't compare. By itself I can see how it is enjoyable.
Come on people the best Marvel film is Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy or Winter Solider It's a pick'em...But I slide more towards Guardians of the Galaxy...It is so hard to make a cosmic film great and this hit it out of the park
When you look at those films, and I'll include the original Iron Man in that list as my favorites, they all took a rather unique approach to comic movies that hadn't been seen before. And the risks paid off. The rest are all pretty standard and formulaic fare.
