If the Vikings can release the QB they took at the top of the 3rd round last year, the Jets can release the S they took in the 3rd round in 2020. I was hoping Davis would make a leap, but sounds like the opposite. Hoping they keep Will Parks, who looks like a player. Surprised about Coleman. Knight looked worthy of a spot though with his ST play too
Totally agree. The jets are probably the only team dumb enough to reserve two spots (Hardee and Smith) for what are basically special team players. Yes. I know Smith caught a TD pass in the preseason, but if he sees any action at WR this year we are in trouble. Mike MacCagnan gave some nobody about $7M a few years ago because he was supposed to be so good on special teams; he stunk. The guy was so bad I can't even remember his name, and shortly after the jets canned him I read that he got arrested on federal charges for fraud.
The thinking behind cutting Guidry is Echols can play slot as well as outside corner and fill 2 reserve role spots. Pinnock also can be an emergency corner. They effectively are able to carve out one roster spot by cutting Guidry. Which sucks as Guidry was a good player and a great find as an UDFA but is understandable when the roster gets this competitive to try to save roster spots for players that will contribute more.
Man...really wish we could've kept those 3rd rounders from the AVT trade. We could've been the ones to cut them today! What a shame.
I loved Lindstrom in the pre-draft process. Would love to see them make a claim for him and ditch Feeney!
For someone who follows college football, Wyatt Davis is 1 of those few enigmas ======= guy was dominant at Ohio State 2 years on the All American team, but couldn’t cut it in the NFL. It happens, - but I just don’t get it.
They should dive on that one. He was supposed to be a good fit for a zone scheme coming out of college.
I liked Davis but I am sure @IIMeanDeanII said he was not as good at college as the tape made him look, I think he was a supporter of Ohio State college.
