"Watch the Tape" is a problem. A coach who cant figure out what is going on on the fly is worthless.

I hoped Glenn would be better than that.

How can you have intra-game accountability if you have to "Watch the Tape" ????

Sure tapes will show some details, but the gist of what is transpiring should be readily apparent.

I have said many time on this forum that we suck until we dont. Enough phony hopes.

I predicted 2 or 3 wins going into the final few games when suddenly the light bulbs will turn on to ruin our draft position and once again create phony hopes for the following season. This song has been played.

    Any disagreements ????

Clear as day Aaron Glenn is over his head and players don't respect him, if they did they would stop getting dumb penalties and hold each other accountable! We are now going to waste Garrett wilsons, Sauce's, Quinnen william's prime and bust another top franchise Qb with this latest dumb coaching hire.

more dumb quotes from our new head coach

“Apparently, I didn’t have the guys ready to play . . . It’s not OK to lose like that,” Glenn said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.

I think you are reading too much into it - when coaches say things like "I need to watch the tape" it is just a way for them to avoid a question that they don't want to answer (often because it will create headlines) - you see it all the time in soccer when there is a dodgy penalty decision or a red card is given the managers always say "I couldn't really see from where I was I will need to watch the replay" because what else are they going to say "yeah my star player was a complete fool and deserved to get sent off for a blatant foul - what an idiot he completely cost us that game"

every team has players that commit dumb penalties that can cost their team a game so I am guessing on that basis there isn't a single respected HC in the league. last season Baltimore had the second highest number of penalties called against them and Harbaugh is one of the top coaches in the league.

They don't respect him, he doesn't have the team prepared, and he looked like Saleh 2.0 on the sidelines Sunday.

All the talk and bluster during the off-season but nothing to show for.

name me 1 team who committed 2 pi's on 3rd and long and 1 roughing the passer in the 1st quarter this week after their coach went on record and said we need to be more disciplined?

how many complete games of teams other than the Jets (including press conferences with their coaches) do you think I watch? If I am not watching the Jets I am watching redzone so no, I cannot tell you which other teams had dumb penalties after their coaches said we need to be more disciplined as I don't watch their press conferences.

but what I can tell you is every single coach preaches "playing smart" and every single week players do the opposite (like that Giants player that got flagged something like 4 or 5 plays in a row) - I caught the end of the Broncos game on RZ where they had won the game but committed a penalty on the last gasp field goal attempt that gave the Colts another shot and they won - are you saying the players there don't respect Sean Payton?

Further than that, he can’t exactly tell the nation wide media the intricacies of how the opposing team exposed the weaknesses in his game plan. It’ll come out regardless, but if he did it himself…

Jets Insider Breaks Down Aaron Glenn’s Credibility After Latest Defeat!

This is an interesting video with Robby Sabo. He says it looks like the Jets didn't have any game plan. They treated Josh Allen like a generic QB and didn't prepare for his strengths. The coaching staff looked unprepared for this game. Hopefully, they'll change their ways, but I'm not so confident. Sigh...

Every newbie Woody hires always has a learning curve where shit looks haphazard. Because he refuses to hire candidates with experience doing the job, we have to go thru the learning process as fans. Yes, Woody sucks as an owner but he ain't selling and he ain't dying. In fact, he's grooming his kid Brick to take over which is why you see the brat hanging out with Dad at the facility. Hopefully the bulb comes on at some point this year for the entire CS. I don't hold any hope for Wilks as he's the only one on the staff with prior experience at his job and he sucks.

It's very clear, even if you do not consider Sabo's points, which are good, AG is learning on the job. Key game coming up this Sunday, He needs to get better and we need to find a way to win. Otherwise there is a pretty strong chance the season might be over in September.

I also hate it when he brings up the fact Detroit started slow as well justifying losing. We have a better roster than Detroit did. They won 5 games with a top QB and then traded away HOF QB in his prime. That was classic rebuild and understandable. We won 5 games last year with the worst coaching in NFL and we retained all key players and signed our stars to extensions, not traded them away. It's not the same situation. We should not be losing the games which we should win and get blown out in the games we should be competitive in.

AG is off to terrible start, while learning on the job, but he needs to learn quick. He has to make sure the team shows up this week with a good game plan and start rightening the ship now before the season is wasted down the drain, which can happen very quickly.

That's the other issue. The roster is not dreadful.

The poor performance so far especially on the defense falls on the coaches.

I guess Jeremy Ruckert isn't the next Anthony Becht after all. To think a true football savant like Tom Rock would steer us wrong on that one.

It took over two hours for him to say that? Anybody have the three minute version?

LOL. Watch the 1st 25 minutes. Skip the promotions and intro and other stuff and it's even less time.

Like I said before, learning on the job. I do think rookies AG (and Tanner) can improve. I am not buying into the bullshit of instant coffee or turning a large ship. but I think there is some leeway, even though this is an awful start for the coach. However he needs to adopt relatively quickly. This roster is not barren, and if the season is effectively over in September, I personally would not have much hope for his future prospects. As of right now though there is still some time to get better and keep the season alive. If AG is any good, he has to take advantage.

Hubris might be the one single thing that dooms AG's tenure as HC of the NYJ's.

Exhibit A: Thinking they could salvage Justin Fields and remake him into an serviceable NFL QB. Ignoring that there is no evidence indicating Fields can be that QB based on his body of work so far. Not every marginal QB can be salvaged. Geno and Baker Mayfield just might be outliers. A $30M dollar mistake probably makes the Owner of the NYJ's a bit skittish..

Exhibit B: Thinking they could remake Brandon Stephens into a CB that has ball awareness when he hasn't had that his entire playing career. Kyle Wilson II and we know how that turned out.

Exhibit C: Not following thru on consistency. If Gipson was cut for mulitiple fck ups, Clemons should also have been jettisoned. Credibility is now in question and I would imagine Clemons has one last fck up before he's gone too. If he's not cut, AG's credibility just got flushed down the drain and the rest of his tenure will come under real scrutiny.
