Bingo. I, along with numerous other posters, have been making THE SAME TYPES OF COMPLAINTS for the past 4-5 years. When the fuck is enough enough already?
damn, dude. lolol. I've agreed with everything you've said. My first post after the game I said this douche should be fired. I'm definitely not trying to argue with you. I'm TRYING to agree with you. He should be fired, imo, definitely.
The worst part of all of this is that scoring a mere 3 points in the 1st Half was redeemable, and it almost was redeemed. But the failure inside the 3-yard line outweighs ALL of the Offense's 1st Half ineptitude. And that is unforgivable.
The f*ng worst of it, is he finally LOOKED like he was turning the corner. Early in the first quarter when I saw him trying to run misdirection, I knew he was reverting to form, and we were f*ked.
Well the news today is coming out that communication errors with the headsets is going to be the culprit in last nights issues getting plays in. If that is going to be the case, they need to give Sanchez a big effin' green light to call his own play at the line if they cannot manage to get them in to him. The constant delay with which we seem to operate on offense reminds me the Heimerdinger era. Weren't we always getting it down to the last second on the play clock then too? I mean, if you are going to consistently run it down to the last second, aren't you surrendering any competitive advantage against the defense? If the defense knows you are slow and are getting down to last second it would seem to me that it becomes a hell of a lot easier to anticipate the snap count.
Admittedly he has his moments when he looks pretty damn smart out there. Unfortunately, they seem to come paired with the most brainless gaffes ever called. It isn't enough to have to sit and wonder when his genius is going to manifest again in a game. I would rather have some average guy that limits his mistakes impacting the game calling the plays.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but in addition to the deplorable playcalling on the goal line, that entire drive took way too long. We spent 7 minutes going down the field to essesntially get 2 points. It then took another 2-3 minutes to get the score. LET SANCHEZ RUN A HURRY UP OFFENSE!!!! that was what really made me pissed off.
How many times did we run that fake reverse- dive up the middle play for 1 or negative yardage? Its insane to me that they kept trying to pound the ball right at the defense. Anytime they did a draw or an off tackle it was money, like how they attacked them the first game. Steelers LB core is similiar to ours in the speed department, you run stretches, cut backs, off tackle, counters.. Whenever we did ANY of those runs, we gained yards and had big gains... Then we put LT back in and have him run right at corey hampton.. ITS INSANE how dumb this man is. You had a great gameplan vs them the first time but its like he thinks "thats exactly what they'd be expecting me to call". Schotty constantly out thinks himself and I'm done with it. If he didn't punch his card with this 1st half performance, 2nd & 1 drive, and the refusal to use our best players during the entire game then Idk what will.
RIGHT! I couldn't understand why they wouldn't just let him go no huddle since (1) he tends to do better and (2) SCHOTTY SUCKS! So goddamn frustrating!
Let's be realistic about Schotty. He has not grown at all. He would never, ever, ever do what the Steelers did yesterday in the 4th, when they threw it late to win the game. He has no feel for the game, no clue what he is doing, and constantly has his team unprepared to play the game from the 1st snap. What is this non-sense about getting into rhythm? You need to know what you are doing on th 1st series, not need to get into rhythm. In year 1, the apologists said that Chad limited his options. Then when Chad got hurt, in year 2 it was that Clemens couldn't cut it and he could not open up the playbook. Then in year 3, with Favre, the offense still did not change. Fortunately the talent of the team carried us, and we almost made the playoffs. Then we got to Rex and somehow he was kept. So, in year 4 the apologists said that Sanchez was a rookie so the offense had to be lackluster. In year 5, its that Sanchez is a 2nd year qb. Next year, it will be that he is only a 3rd year qb. Enough is enough. The problem has never been Chad, Clemens, Favre, Sanchez, etc. He has been the problem. The playcalling has not changed. The offense has not changed. He plays conservative football to keep games close and loses because of it. So, enough is enough. I know I will never purchase Jets tickets or merchandise, as I have no since his 2nd year, until he is fired. And I hope my fellow Jet fans do the same. If Woody, Rex and Tanny are too stupid to fire him by themselves, hopefully the power of the purse will convince them...
Shittenheimer NEVER comes into a game with a game plan on how to attack the defense. They come out and see what the D is doing then try to adjust to that. This time they were too far down to come back and it just took too fucking long. I'm sick of this guy. And that goalline sequence I will never have an explanation for. I was screaming at the TV to run Greene on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th down. But nope.. the genius had to get creative and show his brilliance. Really worked out well. Fucking idiot.
There's nothing wrong with adjusting; that's one of the major elements of the game. And we just about made a comeback in the 2nd Half, so I don't think the deficit was insurmountable. Having said that, the game essentially ended on that goalline failure which was a DIRECT RESULT of his playcalling. And in the AFCC, that's inexcusable. This part, I will cosign.
STOP THE BRANLES SCHOTI BASHIIING!!! fuck him, he needed to go last year. if he dosent get replaced rex is losing a supporter.
At this point, is it really Rex's call? Or is Woody holding onto the mistaken belief that BS will get a HC job somewhere else and be successful and people will question Woody as to how we could have ever let him go (mind you, I don't see that happening AT ALL since I think BS is a worse failure than his father, but is this what Woody is thinkgin (mind you, I know neither you nor anyone here is a mind reader)).
I understand this perspective, but I flatout don't buy it. At this point, I honestly think Woody would/will listen to Rex & Tanny over his ego when it comes to a decision of this ilk.
