Do you all not think we will have to wait until the earliest late Monday while Seattle has there abribitration hearing over Huthinson.
Wistrom, who is highly paid, injury prone and older than Abe and Bryce Fischer, would probably be a June cut............
Winstrom is not really a RE anyway he is more a LE he has a high motor and plays hard . but isnt as good as pass rusher some people make him out to be. abe is a much better pass rusher.
Have you been locked in a closet for the last couple of days or did mommy finally let you off of punishment...............
hey.............i dont live with my mom like u bums still do...............i actually have a life...............and all ur life is being 40 years old, still living with ur mom, and playing with little boys like urself
He never said he was educated... He just doesn't live with his mom, obviously that is far more important and valuable in society today.
erm...yeah. Another devastating poster in the Jets forum. Anyway, let me go to the BS forum before I get in trouble.
looks like we got some realists on the Falcons boards now take a look.. I hope the FO of Atlanta feels the same way that Tann and Mangini are no pushovers http://boards.atlantafalcons.com/index.php?showtopic=149299&st=0
I say take the Seattle pick, #31. That'd give the Jets #4, 31 and 37. Can fill some holes and Max Jean Gilles could be at 31... Now lemme ask this...Can Abe or his agent veto a trade or not go to Seattle if the Jets trade him? Or once he's traded he's totally in Abe's hands and we don't have to have any more of this BS?
I'm not sure I understand Seattles persuit of Abraham. Ever since Tim Ruskell became thier GM last season, they seem to chase the FAs we covet. We had Milloy in and he was already preparing to sign and Seattle decided to call him in for an interview. Same for Abraham. We show interest in him and suddenly they want to enter the picture. I don't know if they are trying to drive the price of our interests up or what. But Michael Boleware is a solid FS so why would they try and sign Milloy? Winstrom is a solid DE so why try and sign Abraham for the cost of picks? They have thier own problems with Hutchinson when they have a huge contract in Walter Jones already. So why take the focus from that to try and pay extra money for players that they really don't need for the price? I don't know if McKay pissed in Ruskells cheerios but last I heard McKay recommended him for GM when he was interviewed. Seems odd that people we bring in get phone calls from Seattle. Not sure there is any conspiracy but it is quite annoying. Anyways, my take on Abraham is him for Schaub straight up benefits both teams. You get a really good QB for less than a million and we get a Pro Bowl DE that will cost enough to make us use patchwork to fill other needed gaps. If this deal never happens I'll be ok with it, and if it does that's ok too. We need alot of things but a solid DL for once in my life would be nice. Currently only Kerney and Coleman are what I would consider solid lineman on the Falcons. But Milloy is our only proven safety, we still have very young WRs, Dunn is getting up in age and we need youth to step in behind him for the future. Only DeAngelo Hall is starting quality in the CB area and our OL can't pass block to save Vicks life. So however this turns out, I'll be ok with it. I honestly don't think Atlanta is trying to play hardball. You have a disgruntled player you need to unload and we have a need at DE. We really need to use McKays ability to draft well to work on our future before he leaves to become the Commish of the NFL. We gave up our 4th round pick already to pickup an unknown safety and giving up our first round pick means our dire need at safety and DB will be slim pickens. So I'm sure both teams are trying to find the best way for this to happen. All any of us can do is speculate.
The problem is Abe wants to go to Atlanta. I don't think he will sign with Seattle unless they really up his pay which will be tough with them having problems with Hutchinson and courting Arrington. Abe holds the cards on which team he's traded to and the Jets hold the cards on the trade. So Jets management have to decide how badly they need to unload him.
Yeah but Shaub's a free agent next year so he'll get his pay day anyway. Also we brought in Ramsey, I don't see us getting Shaub now. And besides, Abraham's a three time pro-bowler who is a proven star and has had over 10 sacks nearly every season of his career, while Shaub's started two games and lost both. So he hasn't really proven anything. We'd need at least a 2nd to make it a fair deal.
Actually it's the Jets who hold the cards, they can afford to keep him for another year even if he doesn't play. Abe would have to sit the whole season and then wouldn't get half the contract he would get from Seattle if he signed with them. If he realizes that, he would sign with the Seahawks if Atlanta keeps lowballing the Jets.
