I don't think a 2nd for Abe is possible, but I believe Abe for a 2nd and 3rd rounder is possible. Those picks would be priceless in our effort to move up and grab Leinart.
uhm, economics 101--value goes down with competition, it is the primary distinction between a market with perfect competition and a monopoly. you're a falcon fan, nobody is expecting much from you, so no need to try and sound smarter than we know you are.
Ok Atlanta winning 2 SB's. and they are going to do this with their incredibly accurate QB, their unstoppable receivers and their inpenetrable D. hmmmm.....yea i can see them winning 2 SB's....and then the Braves are goingto win another World Series, and the Hawks are going to win the NBA Championship, and the citizens of Atlanta are all gonna get above average IQ's. perhaps i am being sarcastic, but you deserve it.
forget it. we'll hold on to him until draft day and then package him with our #4 and move up to the #2 spot to draft Leinart.
This just gets funnier with every thread. Atlanta fans are fully convinced they can demand Abe for whatever they choose to give. Amazing how misinformed they can be. Abe is ours right now, and if I were Tanny and Gini right now, I would call Abe, and flatly tell him, "If you want to play next year at all, we have a shiny new 5 year deal waiting at Hofstra. Take it or leave it. We're done playing this game." $10M a year sounds fair to me. Then that's it. No more games. Then, next time the Tangini tells a team "We want x and y for our z" they will pay attention. BTW: For those who think Abe can just walk away next year, think again. If he plays the game with us, don't put it past our FO to slap him with yet another case of the tag. Yeah, he will get a truckload of cash next year, but it will wreck the rest of his career. Abe wants to get paid, he isn't stupid.
Abraham doesn't want to go to Seattle? Ok. He wants Atlanta? Ok. Well, to be traded, he has to sign our tender. If he doesn't, he doesn't get any money. He does, we trade him anywhere we damn well please. We aren't giving in to a 2nd round pick when we can deal him to Seattle for #31.
Thank you Big Poppa, as a rookie on this site i appreciate that from a Veteran. I just feel that when people say idiotic things they deserve to have a little venom spit at them. Atlanta fans your gonna have to give up a more to get J Abe, howver i believe the Jets are willing to part with Doug Jolley for a good turkey sandwich, so if your owner with the deep pockets can spare a little mayo on the side you can get your backup TE.
Would you really trade Doug Jolley for a turkey sandwich? I mean, that's a smack in the face to Thanksgiving isn't it?
