...nice to not be the team that gets 'taken'. Not sure how this will eventually play out, but I'm sure the days of our FO get shafted are over...
good.. we shouldnt buy into this bullshit that we have no leverage bc we want to get rid of abe.. we dont, but the situation makes it tough to keep him.. but we shouldnt get ripped off just to get rid of him... i think it should be a first for abe or we just keep him and use him as a pass rushing LB.. like merrimen did for the chargers this year..
They're stupid not to. Who are they going to get at #15 who provides more of an impact this year then John Abe? They want to see if they can get away with something, and it's obvious they cannot. A second round pick for Abe is not only insulting, it's bush league to even try to get way with. I say ship him to Seattle. amd to hell with Atlanta.
I hope our GM walks away from the table if all the jets want is the 1st round pick. Its just not worth it when you consider the amount of money he's demanding.
A-fuckin-MEN! Im lovin the new jets......Bradgay and Herm woulda bent over backward and took on eup the A in this situation
i'd rather use the 1st rounder on a top young CB to pair with Hall. Abraham is a great DE but when you consider his injury history, price tag and attitude he's not worth a 1st round pick. I really hope McKay walks away from this deal if all your GM wants is a 1st rounder.
That money doesn't go to the Jets...we could care less how much the Falcons want to pay him...he's still a Jet like it or not...if you want your pass rush to be the best next season you gotta step up...all you guys are thinking about are yourselves
Believe it or not, his excessive contract demands actually lower his trade value. The seahawks are offering a 1st rounder which might as well be a 2nd round pick considering how low it is. Our 1st rounder is worth a hell of a lot more than the hawks' pick.
He is worth more than Ellis. If offering $2-3 million more for Abraham would have led to him signing, then the Jets should have offered it. Ellis is a good player, but he is not the impact player Abraham is. If the Jets end up not being able to trade Abraham, they will have paid him almost $15 million for two seasons! Ellis' 2005 season was an embarrassment and if I were Abe I would clearly consider myself far more valuable than a player who completely disappeared while on the field. While he is acting like a jerk now in demanding a trade only to Atlanta, he deserved a fair contract from the Jets and never got one.
Why Abe to the Seahawks for pick 31 has to HAPPEN Its plain and simple is nick mangold, the best center prospect in this year's draft. Most mocks have him goin to the Steelers at 32 and pick 31 would be a nice spot to snag him up. He is smart and strong. Possibly could start right away. Whatever we do with no.4. Pick 31 is important to get. I pray abraham will negotiate a contract with the damn seahawks. f-ck the falcons. they wanna rape us and its pissin me off that them and their fans think that its gonna happen
THe way this board has a woody for every rookie prospect is very annoying. Would you trade Abraham for Nick friggen Mangold straight up? Come on, be honest with yourself.
