Guess there are some skeptics out there that think this indeed IS a tank.... Jets Accused of Tanking, Losing on Purpose This Season: Insider
Yes I hated the hire from the moment it was being considered as well… Though I gotta say, I hated the Gase and Kotite hires even more. Those two morons were already proven frauds and failures and we couldnt’ wait to run to hire them, when no one else would have considered them anyway.
This is kind of what I said before, and Connor gives this exact example: starting Cook at this point if Tyrod is healthy is clearly not playing your best player at the most important position. But until now Tyrod was hurt. And does anyone really think we are beating NE and Buffalo even with Taylor? If this were a tank job, it was the most terrible job I have ever seen, beating the Browns whom you are directly competing for draft pick and a QB on 14 ST points? Beating Atlanta with 10 ST points? No, I think more likely explanation is that Glenn is covering his ass, so that when he gets outcoached, outclassed, and blown out 5 times in a row, he can fool Woody, it was on Brady Cook, there was no QB, etc... Just like how we learned that the defense was Wilks defense, not Glenn's. You see, Glenn just stands there hanging out, doing an occasional rare dance when we make a good play, and it was Wilks calling Wilks defense, nothing to do with Glenn. Just like now it will be all on Cook and he needs a QB.
I just want to check the pulse of fans... "We have a plan..." - AArod Glenn I could see somewhat of a vision when Douglas was the GM. What is the actual plan that we are seeing right now? It's just bad, WHAT PLAN??? I hate this team.
Exactly! AG likes to talk about “our brand of football” but no fucking idea what that is Is it disciplined play? Is it a defense that rallies to the ball? Is it out hustling or out powering the opposition? Is it a run it down their throat mentality? Is it a wide open passing attack? Like who knows? Because we do none of that!
It did start to feel like Cook was the sacrificial lamb in this episode. Easier to pin everything on the UDFA Rookie.
Glenn is a genius, if he never tells us what the plan/foundation/brand are then we can never blame him for not achieving it.
Let’s just hope that with a year under their belts and a decent QB this CS shows significant improvements. I wouldn’t allow a third year to AG if we have another loosing season. His honeymoon is waaay over and his brand of football is not showing much of anything but rookie mistakes both in play calling, excecution and penalties.
The fact that we are about to make history as the first team ever to play an ENTIRE season without an interception, should DQ him from genius status with anything football related. Defensive mind my ass.. Great CB back in the day, but this is nonsense.
If the Jets are openly accused of tanking and the rest are not then IMO, we are apparently not even doing that all that well. I think is more incompetence and lack of talent at the CS and player level more than anything. Fields got moved to IR and TT has not lasted a game yet so not sure they are even a factor.
I still hold small hope Woody has what alcoholic refer to as moment of clarity and fires Glenn after this season. I estimate that probability to be about 1-5%. Short of that I give about same probability of Glenn turning things around next year. but yeah, one can always hope! If all goes by odds though and Glenn stays then fails next year again, I am praying Mooge somehow comes out with Dante Moore out of this draft. Also I would say not very likely, but here is that word again, hope. I feel like with Dante, even though 2026 will be wasted with Glenn, maybe we can attract a decent offensive coach in 2027 and Woody actually hires one. There it is again, hope. That's all we really got at this point.
