Yes, I think they should be co-captains.

Hopefully, it's very minor, and this will be a blessing in disguise, as it will give Cager or Campbell a chance shine.

Did not sound minor just listening to Gase talk. Sounds like he’s going to miss a good amount of time. I mean that’s just classic Jets luck... first round talent falls to the Jets in the late second, a pandemic cancels OTAs and he hurts his hamstring in August as camp opens. You couldn’t script it any better.

We've seen this enough I think we can fast forward....
    Mims misses several weeks
    Jets have losing record
Fans debate if he should return at all or heal and be ready for 2021
Mims returns for a few games and plays horribly
We go into next year saying things like "with a full year of healthy Mims we can..."

The Mims injury sucks, even if it is only for a couple weeks, because this is the first time the team is practicing together. Every day is really important. He could be healthy Week 1, but have no idea how to play in the NFL. Gore, on the other hand, could miss every practice and just show up Week 1 for his 5 carries and be fine.

hamstrings are usually not minor. Even best case scenario...it's going to be a few weeks. We'd be lucky if it's only two. It'll probably be more

Why Jets’ Denzel Mims, Frank Gore sat out of Friday’s practice
Updated 12:35 PM; Today 12:10 PM

By Chris Ryan | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Friday marked the first time reporters got the chance to watch the Jets on a practice field since December, and it was supposed to be
the first chance to get a glimpse at some of the team’s new arrivals.

Three of those new faces didn’t participate in Friday’s practice: veteran running back Frank Gore, rookie wide receiver Denzel Mims
and cornerback Pierre Desir all missed practice due to hamstring injuries, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Gore, Mims and Desir all watched from the sidelines for the duration of drills, and none had a helmet with him.

Gase said Gore’s absence was more precautionary, but he couldn’t give a precise timeframe on when any of the injured players
would be able to step on the field.

“(Gore’s) been doing stuff with the group. Just really trying to be smart with him today,” Gase said. “Mims — the days are running
together, I can’t remember if it was (Thursday) or (Wednesday). We were just running routes on air, it was a low throw. He kind of took
a weird step and really stretched himself out. And he felt something. We’re just going to have to see how long it takes.”

The Jets will need to see how Mims responds to treatments before determining when he’ll be able to return to the field.

Gase said the coaches will continue to help him get up to speed on learning the offensive system, but any time off the field during an
already restricted offseason and training camp won’t help the 2020 second-round pick.

“Every rep we have right now is extremely valuable,” Gase said. “So we’ll kind of see how it looks in the big picture things. I know he’s
probably going to spend a lot of time, whether be with (Shawn Jefferson, Hines Ward, myself, Dowell Loggains), of doing as many
walkthroughs as he can, because when we’re doing walkthroughs, you’re not running routes full speed and you kind of at least get
your alignments, your assignments and things like that.”

    Hopeful news on Mims:
Manish says it may not be serious, and the Jets are rightly being cautious.
