Mike White has been looking pretty good in TC. The Jets will definitely keep Darnold, Flacco, and Morgan. It would be a shame to let White go, but I can't see the Jets keeping 4 QBs. He looks like he would have been a decent starter for us last year in Sam's absence, certainly better than the others were. Maybe JD can get something for him in a trade. If not, I hope we can sneak him onto our PS.
Even more typical as we could have used the 4th rounder for Morgan on a WR instead. Man, this shit is so easy
Lmao If you guys think this is only the Jets, you are clearly mistaken. Just take a look through the NFL live tweets today. Guys left and right carted off, headed into the training tent, limping on the sideline, etc. Carson Wentz is now day to day. Eagles first round WR now down. 49ers WR placed on IR today. Rams Cooper Kupp high ankle sprain. Chargers Derwin James hamstring injury is in the injury tent right now
You keep pretending that teams having one or two injuries is comparable to missing 5 WRs (including WR1 and the rookie you need to be WR2), CB1, rookie pass rusher, starting slot corner who is finally back, rookie RB now and potentially starting S. I’m probably forgetting people too. Our WR1 was day to day a week ago and still isn’t back. Rookie WR2 hasn’t stepped on the practice field yet. Neither has CB1. I mean it’s not even remotely close to “______ is day to day”.
The Eagles currently have 13 players out or questionable. The Steelers have 15. The 49ers have 19. The Seahawks have 13. The Chiefs have 13 after today. The Colts have 12. Don't tell me other teams aren't dealing with similar injury issues
You're not wrong. I just looked at a lot of these teams you listed and the majority of these squads have a lot of key players out, not just the bums at the back end of the roster. I figured this was going to be a heavy injury season around the league. No OTA's or other organized team workouts, no preseason games, guys dicking around during the lockdowns, etc. Coaches understand this and are likely trying to simulate game action in practices. Which is hard because you don't want to hurt or get hurt which creates the slightest bit of tentativeness when hitting and probably has a lot of guys pulling up to lessen the impact. Not good.
I know I'm not wrong. It's a shit fest all throughout the league. This season is fucked in every way possible. I'm just looking forward to having football on Sunday. I've already chalked this year up to a horrible year due to the circumstances the world is currently in
We can finally agree on something. I’ve never had lower expectations for a Jets team in my 20+ years of actually being invested in the team. The problem is a lot of our problems run deeper than having a fucked up camp and fucked up season.
Well somebody needs to show them how to tank properly, all I have ever noticed us fucking up a tank by winning dead games at the end of the season, just to drop us down the draft and away from the players we required. Even recently it nearly cost us a QB but instead it cost us to trade up, beating the 9-7 Bills twice to gain us 5 wins, could and should have been 3rd pick, got Darnold and saved the trade up. Saying that it wouldn't have made a jack shit of difference as Mac would have pissed them away anyways lol
To be fair it doesn't always work out the correct way. A lot of people were furious that we beat the Dolphins in 2014 and missed our on Mariota and Winston. They're both backups now. We got an even worse pile of shit in Leonard Williams but at least we didn't marry 5 years of our franchise to even more mediocrity. And as much of a disaster the end of the 2015 season was, it was easily the most fun of the decade.
61 receptions for 1,025 yards in the vaunted Ohio Valley Conference for his college career at powerhouse Austin Peay. Learned they have a football program and not just a basketball team today. Always gotta keep learning.
These injuries are carrying across the league. I realky believe its just highlighted for us at the WR position as it is a weaker part of out roster. This season will be the pits, and we have no idea if the league will even complete week 10 never mind a full 16 games. Maybe we are also being over cautious, i hope so, but we just dont know. Cuts are next Saturday, might as well wait until then to look for WR and RB. If a vested Vet is on the opening day roster their salary is guaranteed for the season.
